Nice change of pace
One of my draws to this set was the fact that there are two different themes for you to choose from. The beachy island theme is what was neat to me. My sun room is nautical/island themed, and I thought this would be a nice touch adding some tranquility to it. It’s a nice set. Everything arrived in perfect condition, and none of the sand had leaked. The decor is all well made. As a bonus for me, I used components from the other theme to add to another zen garden I had in my study. This is a nice set with a lot of possibilities and it is a good value for what you get.
Balanced View –
Cute Zen garden
Comes with 2 different scenes, a beach or a Japanese garden. The sand is very white and powdery fine. Combs very well with the wooden tools provided to rake different patterns on the surface of the sand. The amount of sand is just perfect for the base sandbox. The sand fills up to almost the brim of the base sandbox. Just be careful not to rake too hard or else the sand will spill over. I place the base base sandbox in a pan to collect any spilled sand. The plastic bonsai tree is super huge and out of proportion in size to the rest of the figurines. I just don’t use the big tree. The other landscape figures are nice to have. One can design the Zen garden to what ever landscape designs. I leave this in the center of the house and everyone in the family gets tempted to rake the sand to make different patterns on the sand. It is fun and relaxing and makes people laugh.
