Farewell old friend
I am writing this review now after buying this for the second time. It was with deepnregret and sadness that I had to lay my last one to rest after 4 wonderful years. This was my best friend that I couldn’t wait to come home to after a long stressful day.Let me first say that this is not dor the faint of heart. This guy packs a punch that may be too much for most, but I welcomed the abuse. It leaves you sore or a bit bruised if you aren’t careful, but the results are worth it in the end… at least for me. Side note: I never use the heat because I find that the motor warms it enough.I recommend this for those who seek out the strong hands at the spa. I am a pretty tough girl with a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders. After my accident, I started having muscles spasms that left me unable to move. I used this every day until the tension went away, and I was a new person. When my old one died, I literally supernova! Thank goodness I Amazon keeps track of my orders because I would have been lost if I couldn’t find it again!Bottom line.. I love this little guy! You pay less than a trip to the spa and it lasts for years… at least for me…Footnote: This one comes with a plug for your cigarette lighter so you can take use it in the car, but it would have been better if it was a USB, since most cars have that instead… just my two cents there…

Pretty good.
This thing is quite good for the price. I typically use a hard foam roller to stretch out my middle back pain. I have had pain in the same area for over 20 years. Last week, I tried to move some wood loading ramps early in the morning and all of sudden felt like I could not even stand up. It almost felt like something broke in my back. This has acutally happened before in the past, but only a few times over 20 years. Usually it is just a muscle strain which is painful at first, then sore for a couple weeks to a couple months at most. I ordered this back massager the morning after this latest injury and it was delivered within a couple hours. The foam roller was just too painful and would not provide the little cracks and immediate relief it typically does. This massager provided such intense feelings of relief and got into deep tissue that I literally felt what you could describe as euphoria. The problem is it felt so good that I really leaned my weight onto the unit so much that the balls would barely move and I seem to have bruised my back around my spine quite a bit. Now I can only use this massager very lightly until the bruise heals up. The heating feature is not all that warm, but I did feel it.Being a long time sufferer of back pain, I try a little of everything. This massager should really help provide some immediate temporary relief. But to those suffering, I will relate that the absolute best help was strengthening my core by situps, pullups, pushups etc and the corresponding weight loss. I did not have any back pain for years when I could do sets of 10-15 pullups at a time, but I got lazy and now I am suffering again.I have a tens unit. It works great, but it is too hard to get the pads on my back by myself. I have the heating pads and the ice pads. I have the foam rollers with and without knubs. I have a bosu ball. I have the icy hot, the tiger balm, the biofreeze. I have a hot tub with all kinds of jets and 5 different seating positions. This massager is a very welcome addition. I bought an accupressure mat at the same time, about which I was very skeptical in comparison to a shiatsu heated massager. But I am using the accupressure mat in conjunction with the shiatsu massager and light stretching and got back to work after only a couple days with only annoying stiffness, discomfort and soreness instead of intolerable pain and immobility.

so close yet so far
for 2 months if was great but around the middle of month 3 one of the motors started to stutter on me when massaging my middle-back(thoracic region) and by the end of month 3 one side broke completely so I only have one side that works now. I work out often so maybe I just have too strong of a back but I do wonder how stong a 175lb mans back really is versus these motor in upright the seated position lol. perhaps min was defective though. id say try it it and maybe yours will last longer than mine.. as for me….
