Used as a Pre-shave I am now a huge fan.
6/1/2017 Re-writeThe smell is very subtle but also wonderful in nature.The original product that arrived from Amazon did not come with instructions or proper boxing.Upon a less than glowing review the seller reached out to me and requested to replace with a known good (new) version of the product. Upon receipt I went through testing with multiple shaves and multiple razors.Based on my beard I won’t use it as a shave oil (no shaving cream or shave soap), but as a pre-shave the replacement item performed exactly as I had hoped it would and I am very pleased.I coupled it with a tallow soap from the same maker and though the soap is excellent on its own, the shave oil as a prep step made for one of the most enjoyable shaves I’ve had. I was able to repeat the process on multiple days with multiple razors.Bravo.

Great for a bald head shave!
I love this oil. This is the second scent I have purchased from TSE and I love it! I use it to shave my bald head it works great and doesnt clog my razor. It has a slick rich, smooth feeling and the scent is not over powering. I dont know why its called a Pre-shave oil because I use it as a shave oil with nothing else. If you are a bald guy like me, try this oil its wonderful for your head!

Are You Kidding Me!?!
Where has this shave oil been all my shaving life. I have sensitive skin on my face that hates a razor like a Rangers fan hates a Blue Jay. My first exposure to shave oil came a few years back at a swanky store in the mall that’s all about the art of shaving. This oil cost about half as much and works twice as well. The scent is pleasant and doesn’t overpower. Pair with the Tallow Shaving Soap from TSE for the ultimate shaving experience. I will definitely be back for more.

Keep the oil. Toss the bottle plug.
I like the oil. Works well. Good viscosity. Doesn’t smell weird.The bottle as shipped isn’t good. The ‘dripper plug’ in the top does not seem compatible with the oil. It stated to disintegrate within days. Made a mess since it leaked around the plug and down the side of the bottle. The plug finally fell out, so I tossed it. Now i am quite happy.It’s even easier to use without the plug. Put your palm on the open bottle top, turn them over and back to get the dime sized amount on you palm. Apply oil as directed.

A strong smell of castor oil, that is difficult to dissipate
Castor oil is an unpleasant smell to me.It does soften my tough beard if you let it sit on yourface for 10 minutes.

Great scent
Prompt delivery and a great product. I have been using the TSE Blood Orange shave oil for awhile and added the TSE Beach Bum shave soap to amp up my shaving routine. This shave oil is perfect to add to any soap and mixes well with my other shave soaps brands. It adds extra glide to all of my soaps and greatly reduces my nicks and cuts. It would have been more stars if the top didn’t pop off and I lost half of the bottle. I will definitely purchase again when I get low.

Cherry Bomb-Amazing
I was looking for something unique from the usual Sandalwood, Bay Rum, barbershop, scented pre-shave oils, and found this stuff, cherry bomb scented, from TSE. I absolutely love the stuff. It smells like cherry almond with a very slight hint of spice. Price point is great and this stuff helps to make DE shaving a joy. Treat yo self!

Great product as a preshave (not as great for just an oil shave)
I really like this as a preshave oil. Using it as a shave oil alone (no lather) was a little difficult–it is really thick. But that thickness makes it perform really well as a preshave under a lather.The lumberjack scent smells nice, but it smells less “woody” and more “woodsy”, i.e., like I’m in the forest. It kind of smells like a Christmas tree. So it smells good, but I’m not convinced that it is a great scent for my face. I really like the barbershop scent from TSE a lot.
