Miracle Patches
Recently, I got RSV. I have coughed up snots non stop for the past 2 weeks. One particular coughing fit resulted in a sharp pain under my left breast that feels like a dagger being twisted in my side every time I cough which is every 5 seconds. I went to the doctor’s for it and was told to take a OTC pain reliever. It was my luck it did not work. Ice packs, Icy hot, and other pain reliever patches have not worked. I had been suffering for about 4 days before these came in.These relieved most of the pain in about 5 minutes! The pain scale went from it feels like I got shot to it feels like I pulled out a splinter. They are super sticky and will adhere for a long time.If you have pain, try THESE!How I rate the products I review1 Star – Does not work / not as described / would cause damage in any use case2 Stars – Works but poor quality / poorly made3 Stars – Would work fine in other situations, just not mine / lacking more than one thing or has many annoying traits / this product is a decide-for-yourself type of product4 Stars – Works as described but lacks one small thing or has one small annoying trait / still a decent buy5 Stars – A perfect Item with a perfect price-to-quality ratio/ you should definitely buy! (I would also give a product that would normally get 4 Stars this if I can justify why)

Good solution for muscular pain.
I have used Rx Lidocaine patches, which are 5%, for several years. I decided to try this OTC strength of 4% and they work well. The patch is a similar thickness and style to what I have used before. The protective plastic peals off easily. The adhesive is strong and did not pull away or fall off during use. The patch itself is a bit smaller, but still a good size for applying to lower back, shoulder, etc. I do wish the listing showed the size in inches rather than CM. The actual size is 5.5″ x 3.9″. They can be cut to apply to smaller locations, but cut before pealing. The patch will stick to itself if folded and you’re unlikely to get it pulled apart after that happens. Lidocaine is a good solution for muscular pain, as it numbs the area under the patch. It did not help as much for deep joint pain in my hip. It gets 5 stars because it really seems to work as well as the Rx, which is what I hoped for.

First Time User
As someone who has never used lidocaine patches before, this was my first experience trying them. I deal with a lot of cervical pain and was hoping these would provide some relief. The patches are easy to remove from their backing, but I found that once peeled off, they lacked a rigid shape and tended to roll up and stick to themselves. This made application a bit tricky, and I had to discard my first attempt. However, since Iâm new to using these, this might be a common issue with similar patches.Once applied to my neck, I did notice some pain relief, which was promising. However, because I have longer hair, the patch didnât stay on wellâdespite my best efforts, my hair kept interfering with the adhesion. I think these would work better if you have someone to help apply them, at least for areas like the back of the neck.I did experience a mild rash after use, but since I have sensitive skin, this wasnât too surprising. The irritation disappeared within a few hours and didnât cause any discomfort.Overall, for the price, this seems like a great product. Since I donât have experience with other brands for comparison, I feel a five-star rating is fair based on my experience.

4% OTC Topical Lidocaine patches. Effective. Odorless, easy to apply. No residue.
These 4% Lidocaine patches measure 5.5 x 4 inches in dimension. They are odorless, soft, flexible and conform to skin curves reasonably well. The side that applies to the skin is gel like with a mild adhesive that leaves no gummy residue. Prescription Lidocaine patches have 5% lidocaine, so these are just below that threshold and can be sold over the counter. My wife tried one of the patches at bedtime over her scapula where she often has a sore muscle. She said the sore area was noticeably more comfortable that night, though by the morning the effectiveness had worn off and it was uncomfortable again. That would be in line with the product instructions which say to remove the patch after eight hours. Due to a process known as tachyphylaxis, many drugs, including lidocaine, lose their effectiveness with continuous use, so you need to have a “rest” period with no exposure to reset the effectiveness. For prescription Lidoderm, the usual instructions are to apply for no more than 12 hours in a 24-hour period. Presumably that would apply to these OTC products as well.

Didnât work for me
I recently did something to my rhomboid muscle. Have been on anti inflammatory medication, and was told to use lidocaine patches for pain. I purchased a pack of five from Salonpas which worked really well. Because I need them, I ordered this box of 30. Unfortunately for me, they are not the same quality.Firstly, the backing comes off in one piece, which makes the actual patch curl onto itself. Secondly, it is super âsquishyâ and heavy. Even though I have very dry skin, and had no lotion on my back, the patches donât adhere well with any kind of movement. There is no menthol or camphor or even capsaicin in these patches. These ingredients are known to interfere with pain receptors, thusly lessening pain. These are just pure lidocaine.I took the patches off after about four hours of them driving me insane. I had my husband poke around on my back to see what I felt. With the Salonpas brand, I definitely feel numbness. With these, there was absolutely ZERO numbing affect to my skin!! Worse though, there was zero lessening of my rhomboid pain. Salonpas patches actually help.In my opinion, for my concerns, these are not worth their price.
