Great Hold Without the Grease!
This Suave Hair Cream is a game-changer! It provides the perfect medium hold that keeps my grandsonâs hair in place all day without feeling stiff or greasy. The low shine gives a natural look, making it great for everyday styling. A little goes a long way, and the scent is clean and not overpowering. Itâs definitely barber-quality at a fraction of the price. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable, lightweight styling cream!

Smells like a barbershop and adds shine, but I think the hold feels slightly weaker than medium.
If you’re sensitive to fragrance, you probably won’t like this, because it has a strong “barbershop” scent to it and it lasts for a long time. I personally like that fragrance. The cream adds a little bit of a shine to your hair, which is nice, but I think the hold feels a little weak. Like if you have an area of your hair that always sticks up this might not be the best product to hold it in place.3.5 out of 5 overall. Rounding up because it’s a known/reliable brand name at a great price.

Could’ve been great, still can if they tone down the fragance or remove it.
I like it a lot. It reminds me of my old LA Looks gel that’s impossible to find in retail stores. It goes on easy and can easily tame/style longer hair (like Johnny Dep’s back in the 80’s length) without using a lot. Why 2 stars? The fragrance, while nice initially, it doesn’t fade away, it lingers and it’s strong and after a while it becomes nauseating. Please Suave, reformulate it without a scent or tone it down.My current go to is got2be, and a little drop can easily give you spiked hair in spots, so you have be careful and spread it on your hands first and then apply to damp hair. This is similar to this product, but this product is a just a little more forgiving, but you still have to spread it on your hands evenly and then apply to damp hair.

Good hold
Smells nice and easy to apply – it is more the consistency of a lotion or moisturizer than a pomade. The hold is on the firmer side of “medium”, if you just want to style a little bit or have one problem area you want to smooth over, try using a very small amount. I typically use a hair styling powder which is a very matte and very loose hold, this is a little shinier but more definition.

Nice Flexible Styling Cream
This Suave Defining Cream has a nice flexible hold. I donât think it adds any shine. It smells great, but itâs pretty heavily scented. That might not be ideal for some. The cream was easy to use, even my 9 year old applied it himself. It also washes out well.

Great texturing medium hold
I know some other reviewers didn’t care for the scent, but I didn’t find it overpowering. It has a fresh and masculine scent and is only an issue if competing with an aftershave or cologne. The medium hold claim is true and I felt it supported my hair through later afternoon. Hair wasn’t sticky or dry afterword–just held well all day. It didn’t add shine which is what I was looking for. Overall, very happy.

It works but way over-perfumed, smell becomes obnoxious
Packaged nicely and in a convenient tin, it works but what WOW what a lingering stench. The smell isn’t bad, but it simply does *not* go away. You know the guy/girl with too much perfume in the office? That’s you now. 8 hours later, it’s still with me in my hair. Will not buy again, geez…
My Prerogative –
Not enough hold to actually define and texturize
I like cream hair products over gel products as they tend not to look flaky as the day goes on. That’s a pro of this product. I like the scent although I’m not sure my nose is picking up on sandalwood or lavender. 3 star rating from me because if you’re really looking to add definition or texture to your hair, this probably isn’t the product for you as the hold factor is next to none in my opinion. I know everything is getting more expensive these days, but not sure a seven dollar price point is necessary for the small amount you get/the Suave brand name.
