This DVD does not play ! Do not purchase and waste your money. When contacted rare waves they said it can only be played in European model players and they do not have a US or Canada version.They should not be permitted to sell with this full disclosure to consumers!I would not even give it one star rating however, it would not allow me to express this otherwise!

Seller does NOT indicate this is a Region 2 DVD, cannot play it
Nowhere on the case or the listing does this state it is for Region 2. I am so angry, I got this for my girlfriend for Christmas, she was so excited to watch it tonight and we cannot play it in our machine. Appalling that they would not list the region in the item description or on the disk. Will never purchase from this seller again.

Waste of money, did not play in my player. Nowhere in the description of the product does it say it only plays in certain region(s). Cannot return now because of shrink wrap being taken off.

This is the sequel to The Shining, with Ewan McGregor on the fringes of life, his mother and the cook have died, he muffles his shining with alcohol. He runs from an awful one night stand and ends up in a small town that feels right – it’s where Abra lives, and she’s in trouble because Rosie and the True Knot want her shining. They killed a young boy and Abra sensed it, so they know she will be even better food for them. Will Dan be able to help her and stop The Knot killing shining children? This dvd has a lot of heartfelt performances and it made me want to read the book again. The dvd ending is slightly different so be prepared for more finality.

I was surprised by how good this was. I had read a lot about it and read many reviews not all of which were very kind but I was completely wrong about any misapprehensions. The actors were all very good and the film is set at an amazingly high tension filled tempo. Ewan McGregor who is in a lot of films, surprised me by getting into the Danny role absolutely perfectly. The only person I had any misgivings about was the clairvoyant girl – she seems to have been shoe horned in a little I thought. In the final scenes she wasnot needed. Just to underline, nothing will ever be as good as the original which is the best horror ever without doubt but this is a damn good follow up.

One star off as the cheapskates didn’t include the directors cut blu ray , as they did on USA releases.Yet again this side of the world pays more for less.The 4 looks brilliant , but to be honest the directors cut on blu ray doesn’t look much worse.If you are a fan, buy it mind you.
