Not a strong hold
I love the nourishing ingredients in the gel buuut it doesn’t seem to hold textured hair down esp new growth while trying to stretch my relaxers. I guess it’s better if your hair is straight somewht already laying down. I will keep trying it til it’s gone because of the ingredients.**I went and reread tye description and it says to use while hair is wet ð ..I was using it on dry hair so maybe that is the issue.1st order was opened. Customer service took care of the issue immediately by sending out another jar. I trashed the 1st to be safe.

Works Amazing
It’s been a struggle for me to find hair products that work for my hair, I was getting so frustrated and wondering if I was ever going to find a gel that works because I was reading so many mixed reviews for Shea Moisture. I decided to just go ahead and get this gel because Shea Moisture, in me and my hairs opinion, is the best and so nourishing. Turns out, yes, my hair loves Shea Moisture and this gel has been a hair saver, it works amazing, and my hair looks so beautiful, it holds great and for the whole day. The gel has the consistency of…well…gel haha! The smell is nice, it’s like a tropical smell with a hint of a butter-y scent. I also love that you get a good amount of gel, basically you get a tub, and this really depends on your hair, but I just use a little bit, like probably a golf ball amount or even less, it’s really nice and when I run out, I’m 100% buying this again!

I typically enjoy the Shea Moisture line and will stick to their coconut hibiscus gel. This one flakes once it dries.

Smells great but doesnât hold
Smells great but didnât hold my 4B hair at all. It flaked brown and it looked like I never applied anything on my hair at all. Iâm extremely disappointed with this product. Since I canât return it, I will try to see if it works as a wash and go gel but I donât have much confidence in it. Definitely does not work if youâre trying to slick back your hair into a ponytail or bun no matter how much product you use.

I have dermatitis so I have to be very careful what I use on my body in order to not flare it up. This product seemed very hydrating and not filled with as many harsh chemicals as the average gel I guess.LIKEDIt smells good, the texture is smooth and easy to work with.DISLIKEDAfter it dries, it crumbles… I see white little beads of gel all over my edges and it looks like I have dandruff or something. not very pleasant to look at. I have straight, dry, frizzy, and fine hair so maybe this gel is not my hair type…? I’m not sure. it didn’t work for me though.
