I have been using tea tree shampoos for many years because of the many benefits. I need it for dandruff prevention, hair growth, and lice repellent.I wash my hair only once a week because I have curly hair and this reduces drying out my hair and frizziness. But this infrequency can contribute to dead skin build-up and scalp fungus that leads to dandruff. This shampoo helps break up the dead skin and kill the fungus that leads to dandruff.Tea tree oil has been shown to increase circulation which helps keep follicles healthy and leads to better hair growth. Which helps keep my hair thick and full.I also need lice prevention due to the occasional incidents that bring these nasty little bugs into my house. The infestations we’ve had after starting to use tea tree shampoos have been significantly lessened in time and severity.And now, why this particular shampoo? The cost, the ingredients, the results. I’ve bought a lot of different kinds of tea tree shampoo through the years. Anything from Paul Mitchell to Trader Joe’s to Burt’s Bees to OGX to Walmart generic brands and more. They are all good in their own ways. But this is one of my favorites.I’m not a fan of sulfates which dry out my hair. I like natural ingredients that still have a good foaming effect. I like moisturizers that soften my hair. I don’t like artificial perfumes that leave an overwhelming scent. And I don’t like to pay an arm and leg for it. Tall order, I know. But I’m happy with this product on all points.Besides the tea tree it has Argan, Jojoba, Lavender, Rosemary oils which are wonderful for my scalp (and smell good too). It has natural surfactants that foam up well. It has keratin which helps strengthen my hair. And panthenol to help moisturize and smooth it.Overall very pleased.

I have moderate dandruff. My hair is moderately long, dark brown, not really thin or thick, and has a natural softness. I have never colored my hair, but I did spend a year several years back flat ironing my natural curls. After all that flat ironing my hair was horribly dry and ruined for quite a while. Even when it was sort of back to normal it was still not nearly as soft as before. Biosilk actually brought my hair back to softness, but there was a downside. Biosilk did nothing for my dandruff. So I looked around and decided to try more natural products since most off the shelf products did nothing for my hair.Another note: I work in the food industry so I’m wearing a hat and hair net on an almost daily basis, which did not at all help with my dandruff problem.Now I have had used tea tree shampoo before from the Generic line, a line meant to imitate the Paul Mitchell Tea tree oil products, and it did work on my dandruff, but it dried out my hair. So that didn’t work.Then I found Maple Holistics. This shampoo has been very effective with my dandruff. It took a few applications, which for me is about a couple weeks since I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week so I don’t lose my natural oils in my hair. After a couple of uses I noticed my scalp healing over since I had been so itchy that I had scratched myself quite a bit. The itchiness has been greatly reduced, and while I still get dandruff it’s very mild compared to before (even with sweaty hat hair) . I also noticed that my hair hasn’t horribly dried out!Now the reason for the one star taken off is that it’s not a perfect product. I did pair this with their Silk conditioner, and my hair lost a little of that softness I had gotten from Biosilk. Still my hair and scalp feels good and I’m a pretty happy with this new product.Now I noticed a lot of people got free or discounts of this product, but I didn’t. I bought this completely on my own at full price and felt compelled to review.Also this shampoo smells wonderful. Minty lavender. And I’ll do a separate review of their conditioner.

Fixed my itching
Great shampoo I’ve tried them all, head and shoulders, selsun blue, this is the only one that stopped the itching and my hair is much more healthy because this is all natural. Would recommend to anyone.
