Product Description
Creates soft, resonant sounds: When rain or water droplets fall on the surface, the drum creates soft, resonant sounds. An outdoor rain drum is a captivating and unique musical instrument, often found in gardens, parks, or outdoor spaces, that merges the beauty of music with the tranquility of nature
Outdoor rain drum set: 6 inches 11 notes green rain drum*1, drumsticks*2, drumsticks holder*1, finger paddle*6, note sticker*1, music book*1, travel bag*1. Complete accessories suitable for beginners and professionals (Tip: Music books are professional music scores without digital annotations. Non-professional players can search for simple versions of digital music scores online and learn slowly.)
Durable material: The rain drum is made of heavy steel, and the interior is hollow and substantial without being too heavy. There are three small rubber feet at the bottom to prevent it from moving around. There is also a removable rubber plug in the middle of the bottom for drainage and tone adjustment
Clear sound and precise pitch: The 6-inch tongue drum has 11 different sized tongues in the shape of leaves and flowers, You can create a variety of sounds by striking different parts of the drum. The center usually gives a deep, resonant tone, while the edges tend to produce lighter, higher-pitched sounds. By alternating between these areas, you can create rhythmic patterns
Sound healing applications: Rain drums offer a unique way to connect with nature while promoting relaxation and emotional healing. Their soothing sounds create an atmosphere conducive to mindfulness. Whether used in sound therapy sessions or personal meditation, rain drums can enhance well-being through their ethereal melodies

Sounds pretty, solidly made
This is the first time I’ve ever used a drum of this sort and it really has a lovely chiming sound that’s very peaceful. I ordered the purple color and it matches the photos exactly. The metal is thick, durable, and can withstand hard pounding with the included tong style drumsticks. Neither my husband nor I could hear much of a difference between having the bottom plug in or removed. It’s supposed to change the timbre, but it doesn’t do much. The little music booklet isn’t helpful at all because it doesn’t correspond the notes to the numbers. It’s just simple kid songs written in regular musical notation. So you must figure out songs for yourself or find instructional videos. You get more information in the listing than in the booklet. Aside from that, it’s a nice little set that’s good for all ages, whether you have musical experience or not. It’s a simple, non-electronic introduction for beginners, or can be a welcomed addition to a musician’s collection of sounds. The drum is very lightweight and comes with a dark brown velvet drawstring bag for storing or traveling. I definitely recommend this drum for the quality, appearance, sound, and value. It comes in an easy to wrap, plain box and would make a unique, pleasant gift.

Beware This drum is only for some who reads music
You have to put the numbers on yourself, (which I found tricky), and I canât figure out why because the music book only gives notes..how is one to follow along hitting the numbers when it doesnât give you numbers in the music book. Only notes so one doesnât know what number to hit unless they read music..my little 4 year old doesnât know notes. This drum is not for all! Iâm so very disappointed. Wish I had read the music book before i painstakingly applied all the useless numbers. Unfortunately I donât read music either so my little one will just bang on it without learning to play a song with the numbers that mean nothing.

Resonant Fun, But Accompanying Info Could Be Better for Beginners
Itâs tuned to a diatonic scale, think white piano keys, C to C, plus a lower G up to starting C.If you know kalimbas (thumb pianos) youâll get the layout of the alternating tongues. The diagram doesnât clearly lay out the orientation. There are two tongues across from each other that are slightly larger than the others. Letâs call them âcenter tonguesâ and place one of them directly in front of you. You can play the scale âupwardâ in ascending fashion or âdownwardâ in descending based on the tongue immediately to the right of the âcenter tongueâ. If the tongue on the right sounds lower than the tongue on the left of the center, that right tongue is low âCâ and the scale will ascend by alternating tongues. If the tongue on the right is higher than the one on the left, that tone is high âCâ and the scale will descend. The large center form (not sure if that qualifies as a tongue) is low âGâ and the two center tongues are low âAâ and âBâ.I prefer the tone of the mallets to what Iâll call âfinger malletsâ. You have to twist the tops a bit onto the sticks, but the stick mallets ring out more. The finger mallets produce a softer tone that I think sounds warmer if you allow your hand to mute the bowl slightly, dampening some higher frequencies. Not sure what the scary claw-like device is but it produces the sharpest pinging tone and isnât really satisfying to me.I recommend removing the rubber âmuteâ in the bottom. It doesnât make a whole lot of different tonally but I think it opens up the sound. The booklet could be a lot better. Whatâs the point of providing number stickers for each tongue if the provided songs are all in standard music notation? I recommend finding small letter stickers or, better yet, learning music notation is not difficult for this instrument and will provide a feeling of accomplishment.

Lacking
If you’ve had one of these before than it’s fine but as it is it’s not for a beginner. The positive: the sound is great. The negative: there are no instructions. There is a small music book but if you can’t read music you’re lost. I don’t understand why they would send decals to put the numbers on if the book doesn’t use numbers to teach any songs. Very odd. Also, reading the songs I’m not sure why they have alternate lyrics, seems odd to me.So, if you are already familiar and just going to the instrument it’s probably fine. If you want to learn to play it successfully skip this one.
