This is such an amazing product. I love how it’s used overnight.

Great Brand, Okay Product
These are kind of expensive and only give okay results. I don’t like that you only get 20 of these for $10, that’s kind of crazy. I did find this helps nails somewhat, they do look a bit better after use if your nail is doing poorly. I had one that was peeling ever so slightly and it did help but it didn’t perform any miracles of course. The patch sticks nicely but can be hard to put on. It moisturizes and makes the nail look slightly better after one use overnight, but I don’t think I would get these again. I would actually recommend this brands Hard as Hoof Strengthening Cream. In my opinion that works way better, is more cost efficient, and lasts forever. These are nice but just didn’t do enough for me to justify the price. This is a good brand and I love a lot of their stuff, but this is on a lower tier for me than some of their other products.

Wasteful packaging, difficult to apply, mild improvement
These nail wraps are not at all what I expected. The sticky part is a thin, clear adhesive that is similar to what is used to dress IVs in the hospital, or like the Nexcare waterproof bandaids. It has a little bit of stretch to it. The yellow pad appears to be saturated with the solution that is supposed to work its magic overnight. That’s the basics of this product.Each individual strip (you get 20) comes in its own little plastic bag that you have to tear open. You then peel a white paper strip off of most of the sticky side, put it on your nail, and wrap it around your finger. You may think you should do the rest of the white side next, but I tried that and it was a bad idea. You should pull the blue portion on the same side that you did first off so that you can get that additional plastic layer off of the “arm” before you wrap the other side on top of it. Then the other white paper, then the other blue plastic piece. Once it’s wrapped around your finger, fold down the tip. It won’t be pretty. The clear sticky part is very thin and bunches easily, but has good staying power. If you’re not ambidextrous and don’t have someone else to do your dominant hand, this could be a struggle. When you’re done, scoop up your mountain of plastic trash, and throw it away. This can be challenging because of the static on the plastic pieces and the tackiness of the strips now on your fingertips. The container is reusable, though, so that’s cool.I have a pretty chronic problem with cracked cuticles (lots of hand washing and dish washing). I would say overnight, these strips were a mild improvement. My nails look smoother, but my cuticles aren’t necessarily any better than when I use cuticle oil.

No Visible Results; Nails and Cuticles Felt Marginally Better
I ordered these Hard as Hoof S.O.S Nail Patches because my cuticles are dry and peeling and my nails had been neglected for a few years until a recent DIY gel polish manicure.I applied them, wore them overnight, removed them in the morning, washed and dried my hands, and took the after picture.There is no real visible difference. Granted my gel polish peeled off after a few days, so my nails weren’t as bad as they’d be after a full round or multiple rounds of gel polish. I’m going to try these patches again after there’s more substantial damage and see how my nails turn out.The nail beds and cuticles do feel softer, but not exceptionally different, and my nails do feel less bendy.Biggest complaint was application. I feel like there has to be a better way to design these patches so that they’re easier to apply.On the first one, the white backing for the hydrogel came off with the white film layer on the front of the patch and I did not realize it, which led to confusion on what I was supposed to remove on step 2.After figuring out the backing I was supposed to remove in step 2 was already gone, the clear film was already sticky, and it was difficult to get ahold of the blue tab to remove it. Once I did, the clear film seemed to get stretched out, super sticky, and easily fold over on itself making it harder to wrap the strip around my finger. Obviously, process gets harder once you get more fingers done.At this point, I wouldn’t buy these again. If I see and feel a more dramatic difference on the next go round, I’ll update with my experience.

Wow! this works so much better than cuticle oil. I wouldn’t have believed it except that I took pictures of a dry nail after removing my press-ons. My Day 2 picture is about 30 minutes after using an Onyx Professional Hard as Hoof S.O.S Nail Patch overnight. It is unscented and does not leave your nail looking greasy like cuticle oil, and I love that it provides sustained treatment overnight. I had a learning curve when using the patch and lost two before I was happy with the placement. There are 5 protective backings to remove: two on the top, two on the bottom AND on the pad itself. The adhesive is secure as long as you don’t wet it and gets stronger with time. But the clear edges are very soft and can easily stick to themselves, so youâll have to be careful on the final folds. With 20 patches for $9.99, I plan on reserving these only for the nails that need the most care.

Noticeable improvement for my sad nails
My nails are a MESS. Health, stress, etc. Ridges, peeling, weak. It’s so frustrating because I used to have beautiful nails. These are the first overnight nail treatments (that weren’t a regular strengthener or cuticle oil) I’ve tried. I really like them.The difference after using them isn’t a miracle, but it is an improvement. The cuticle definitely looked much better, and the nails themselves look generally smoother and more nourished, even a few days later.I have the worst time applying them. Idk what is confusing about them. Maybe it’s just me or maybe after another 10, I’ll get the hang of it. I expected them to fall off while I slept, but they did stay on.
