    My favorite minoxidil
Very good value, they are in tall cans so a lot of product for the price. Lasts a long time

Fuller facial hair in just 3 months!
I started Minoxidil so that I could finally have a fuller mustache and eyebows. I’ve been using it for 3 months and I’m seeing a ton of improvement. This stuff works!

2 months later… hair is growing!
After using consistently for 2 months, hair is growing where there hasn’t been hair in years! I’m only really doing this as an experiment. I’ve been shaving my head bald for the last 5 years and I don’t expect to regrow enough hair to stop doing that. But I wanted to see how well/fast it would work for my own reference, and so I know what to recommend younger guys.My temples haven’t had hair for years, this is the first spot where thick hair is growing back. Thick dark hair that you can actually see! I’d say here, it’s working perfectly, and before long, hair will be back to normal. My hair line is seeing some hair comeback too. The middle is seeing some new thick hairs, but nowhere enough. Maybe if I continued using, I could grow my hair to mid length and comb over here. That’d probably work. that’s what I did when I started losing hair, and it worked fine. The sides of my hairline seem thicker and I think it’s working well there. My crown has been bald for the longest. It was pretty much smooth-bald. I expected no results here, because I figured the hairs follicles were just totally gone. But it’s absolutely growing new hairs here! Right now they’re thinner, lighter baby hairs. But I imagine with continued use, I would see most of this hair come back.I have experienced some head aches. I never get head aches, and it’s right after applying this product. I backed off the amount that I was using, and it has staved these off.Anyone serious about regrowing their hair, you should look up clinical studies on hair-regrowth. The full papers include really useful information, comparisons, and other products that you can use. They also show super close-up microscopic views of skin after weeks of using various products. It will give you a better understanding of what using a product like Minoxidil actually does to the skin, and what time scales to expect to see results. All Minoxidil does is increase the blood flow in the scalp. This allows the skin to form hair follicles though, and to help work against DHT.Some info to help your search. There are clinical studies comparing peppermint vs Minoxidil that showed peppermint oil being more effective in lab rats for regrowing hair. It’s a small scale study, but it’s worth thinking about and checking out. Of course, they used a centrifuge to create a microemulasion with other oils. I imagine the average dude doesn’t have this ability. But I throw some peppermint oil at my scalp here and there for good measure. Peppermint works in the same way Minoxidil does, by increasing blood flow. You can obviously tell that it works better, because it tingles.Other oils to research for hair growth are tea-tree oil (anti-fungal properties), lavender oil (works almost as well as monixidil in trials, in a microemulsion), camphor oil (blood flow), caster oil (as a base oil), curry oil, and hibiscus. Do your research if you’re going to try any of these. There are clinical studies that include all of these specifically for hair growth. Also, look up Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. It works by killing fungus that causes dandruff. This is the same mechanism that tea tree oil works on to promote hair growth. Nizoral is really strong. You can get 1% anywhere online. 2% is considered prescription strength. I’ve heard the 2% is better, but I went with the 1%. I use it about once a week. You don’t want to use it more than that. It will dry your scalp out, and cause more harm than good – if used too much. The active ingredient you want is ketoconazole. It is the anti-fungal ingredient. It has been shown in studies to be as effective as minoxidil. So why not double up? Research this for yourself before trying. There is also the hypothesis that ketoconazole blocks DHT, but it’s inconclusive at this point.

    Great for Beard Growth
Kirkland is my favorite brand of minox. It’s cheaper than Rogaine, yet the foam is denser and doesn’t melt as fast as Equate.I use this foam on my beard. I don’t grow a lot of hair on my chin under my lips, my mustache doesn’t connect to my beard, and I had this small spot on my right side that just didn’t grow facial hair (lower part of the circled area), even though it grew on the left.I’ve been using this for two months and I’ve already got vellus hairs growing in. These are the blond peach fuzz hairs in the picture. Some of them are even growing in a bit darker. For the beard, vellus hairs are the first to pop up. Then after a few more months of minox use they will shed. After they shed, they are replaced by terminal hairs, which are permanent. If you discontinue use of minox while you only have vellus hair, they will shed and won’t regrow.I can’t recommend this product enough for guys who really want to grow a beard. Minox is neat in that it will grow hair wherever you apply it, as long as there are dormant hair follicles. The only things that genetics dictate are how long it’ll take (some say 6-8 months, others take more than a year) and the density of your beard (density of hair follicles on your skin).I would recommend the foam over the liquid because I think it’s easier to apply exactly where you want it. Also, minox will dry skin out, and I find that the foam is a lot more gentle than the liquid. Minox needs 4hrs to absorb completely into the skin, morning and night, but I apply a moisturizer about 2 hours after application to keep flaking to a minimum.

    This works for most people.
This works for me but takes a few months to notice a difference. I shed a lot of hair at first, this is a sign the product is working. The shedding just means that new hair growth is pushing the older hairs out so the new ones can grow. I have long hair, I apply the foam by making parts across the top of my head and squirt tiny bits of foam along the part then I rub it in. Don’t wash it out after using it, it has to stay on your scalp at least 8 hours everyday for it to work. If you stop using the product the new hair will fall out and the hair loss will start once again so you have to use this everyday.Make sure not to the let the foam drip on your face if you don’t want facial hair. Wash your hands well after using. Also, make sure to point the bottle down when you use it or the compressed air inside that makes the foam come out will escape and the foam will stop coming out eventually. I just added this comment because someone actually did this then gave the product a bad review. The foam doesn’t irritate my scalp at all but the liquid did.
