Skin and Coat Chews WORK
When we first noticed how often our dog was itching and scratching, we assumed it was allergies. But some online reading led us to wonder if it was her gut health. So we researched some products and decided to try this one and we are SO GLAD we did. Within a few days the scratching stopped and her coat became silky smooth! She also loves eating the chews; we just drop a couple into her bowl with dinner every night and she noses around to find them to eat them first! Weâve been using these chews for a couple months now with great results. Far more affordable than similar products Iâve seen advertised. I would recommend!

So, as you are already aware, yes these are stinky. However, if they are responsible for Tohbi’s incredible progress, then it is a small sacrifice for me to put up with the smell for a minute a day. Tohbi is a 15+-year-old Labrador Retriever mix, who has had TPLO surgery on his left hind leg (2022) and a modified figure 8 surgery on his right hind leg (March 2024). Tohbi’s pre-surgical bloodwork for his most recent surgery showed that he has liver disease, which is not unusual in older dogs. After his surgery and during his recovery, his appetite was waning. To complicate matters more, Tohbi seemed lethargic and somewhat depressed. Enter Natural Dog Company Stinky Liver & Kidney Supplement Chews. Now, Tohbi being a rather fussy eater, I need to slice these into fours and hide each slice in something that he loves in order to get him to eat these. After several months of getting one of these per day, Tohbi’s appetite is better, he is no longer depressed, and he is much more active than he had been. I intend to update this post after his next veterinarian visit, during which we will have his liver and kidney values reevaluated. Stay tuned.

LIVER&KIDNEY:Itâs true they do have a funky smell. And my dog did eat them. But I after a few days I noticed a problem.My dog was having an allergic reaction to the Liver & Kidney chews. And I feel so bad I didnât catch it. They are made with Safflower oil, and I know my dog is allergic to it.But I didnât see it in the inactive ingredients. Itâs completely my fault. I wouldnât have bought them had I noticed.So I have to stop using it. But I still think they are good chews. And my dog still wants to eat them lol. Because heâs a food monster lol.(next day)HIP&JOINT:Today I gave my dog only the Hip&Joint chew. And he is having the same allergic reaction. I donât know what he is reacting to. Because the Hip&Joint. They do not have Safflower oil. But they do have Sunflower lecithin. I donât know if that means anything.Itâs so frustrating. Itâs not the companyâs fault. Itâs an allergic reaction.

Sent these to my neighor for his Chocolate Lab who was itching so much and I felt sorry for him. It may be helping as I see him scratching less. Not a great dog parent so I try to fill in, as a caring neighbor and lover of dogs.

Worked for one but not the other
We used these on new years. Gave our 112 lb dog the allotted dose but aren’t too sure it had any effect on him. Our smaller dog on the other hand seemed relaxed. Our big dog still went off every time he heard a firework. We gave them to him about 2 hours prior to when we thought people would light some off but ended up being off by a little so he was a little worked up prior but calmed before we gave them to him. They both took them like any other treat so they must taste good.

3 weeks later and my dog is still sick
****Update****The video is of my dog after taking theses chews and the pic is up sitting in the emergency room. My dog is 2 years old. Never had any stomach problems. Now after 3 emergency room visits and nearly 2K spent on her medical all the company has to say is. Oops we checked that nothing is wrong with the batch and itâs unfortunate that my dog may have been allergic to one or more of the ingredients. Itâs been nearly 3 weeks and my dog is still not well. And I feel like a horrible pet parent for giving this to my girl. PLEASE STAY AWAY OTHER PEOPLE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES.*Update*So the emergency vet treated the nausea. And she was still not herself. Had another episode of nausea so bad I had to get someone to come with me to a second trip to the emergency room then today we had to go again for an ultrasound and she was diagnose with gastroenteritis so 3 trips in total to the er with my dog and nearly $2000.00 later. All because I wanted to help her with her separation anxiety.I gave my dog this calming chew and I ended up in the emergency room a couple hours later. She had extreme nausea from it and I couldnât get her under control. She started having a pica episode that is when you eat anything you can get your hands or in this case paws on. She started eating grass and dirt and licking my walls and I couldnât calm her down. Now Iâm out even more money since this is not returnable on top of an emergency visit to the vets at midnight

I was a little disappointed when my original cranberry dog chews were no longer available. I looked up other brands with the same ingredients and went with this one. My dog will often leave them in her bowl. The other thing, when comparing ingredients, yes they have the same but this product has less than half the amount in each chew compared to the other. Same price. May work just fine, all said, I don’t know.

They really work well take the anxious edge away from my dog. I hope they come back in stock. The smell of the valerian stinks and may be unappealing to some dogs. Mine eat them right up. They are a decent price considering most calming treats are $45-$50 will continue to buy if they come back in stock.

This is an amazing supplement and the first NOT to cause my dog a bad tummy. Brilliant ingredients. The problem was the Expiry date. Giving my 14 & 1/2 year old 1/2 tablet every other day. Bought 5th August but the expiry date is the end of November: 3 months! Company have not got back to me.

Currently I have 3 of my 4 dogs on these, I brought one tub on a whim, in an effort to settle my dogs who bark at the wind, the fence, hell the invisible man, you name it they bark. Which has a knock on effect IE one starts they all start.The first day I noticed a remarkable difference, more settled less reactive to strangers and well I liked the outcome so much I dropped another 60 notes 2 days later on another 2 tubs.Great for separation anxiety, general upheaval or uncertainty. Will definitely buy again! Recommend highly
