Excellent, LARGE, travel bag for hot hair tools!
Great size — it was much larger than I was expecting, which was nice. Excellent quality and durability. I really like that the heat pad is detachable (with magnets). Highly recommend!

A really nice bag, but I don’t think the mat will work out
THE BAG:The bag itself is made of a nice material and I like that there is a strap that you can hang it up with. It’s large enough to fit straightening irons, and curling irons, plus maybe a small enough hair dryer, as far as hot hair tools go, and can fit brushes and combs and other styling tools. It also has some convenient spaces to place hair accessories, like barrettes or hair ties, and other small items, There is a small zippered compartment (I had to zip and unzip this a few times to get the zipper to work well), two open pockets with elastic on top, and a sewn elastic piece with 3 openings.THE DETACHABLE MAT:The mat is made of neoprene on the inside and attaches to the bag via 4 magnet snaps on the outside. It can be separated completely from the bag or left attached to it on one side while being used to shield a countertop or flat surface from the heat of the hair tools you use. It can also act as a guard to help keep the contents of the bag inside if you accidentally forget to zip it.THE GOOD:The bag is waterproof and can be wiped down easily, which is nice if you’re using it in a bathroom where the counter tends to get messy and germy. It also helps to protect the hot hair tools inside from moisture and water on the outside. The handle/strap/lanyard makes the bag easy to carry and hang. The extra spaces inside help keep things organized. You can use the magnets (when not holding the mat) to hold on to bobby pins, other small metal hair accessories, or earrings/jewelry to keep them from falling or getting lost.THE BAD (or not so bad):I did some research on neoprene and its melting point is 40 degree Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). From what I read, heat is not good for neoprene. It’s recommended not to wash it above 80 degrees Celsius (176 degrees Fahrenheit). Curling irons, flat irons, and other hair styling devices can reach temperature upwards of 246 degrees Celsius (475 degrees Fahrenheit), so I can’t see how this would work if you were in a hurry and had just styled your hair with a flat iron, threw it on this neoprene mat and then into the bag. I don’t trust it for this use. I will not be doing that with mine. I will let my hair tools cool enough so they’re at least touchable, but still warm, before wrapping it and putting it in the bag. A warmer flat iron might work if it can be closed to where the heating elements do not touch the mat.I think if certain hot hair tools, like a curling iron without protective end, were put on the mat and then into the bag, they could slide and burn either the bag or it’s contents if they were hot enough. This is something I would not risk. There are no written instructions or warnings included, and I think they are needed.Also, upon receiving this travel bag, I first noticed a chemical odor. I had to hang it up and air the whole thing out. I have a sensitive nose, so I’m hoping this oder will go away.FINAL THOUGHTS:I like the idea of having a mat that can be stored and attached to a bag for hot hair tools, but I think this one needs an upgrade. I would prefer that the mat was made of a better, more heat resistant material, like silicone perhaps. Other than this, I really like the bag and it works well for transporting hair tools and accessories. It also keeps them all in one place and easy to find. For the most part, I’m going to use mine to store some occasionally used hair tools, and then if I travel, I’ll swap out the ones I use and take those with me. I won’t be using the mat, except as a clean place to set hair tools and accessories.
