I was a faithful Aesop customer but knowing they are owned by LâOréal, I wanted to find a company that had similar qualities but that isnât owned by a big corp. I love that this brand is B cert and has quality ingredients. My skin is super sensitive but I havenât had any bad reactions and my skin is hydrated during a NY winter.

Nice moisturizing serum!
* I am in my early 30s with sensitive acne-prone skin with very very dry patches. I have some acne scars, discoloration and quite a bit of sebaceous filaments.Description of Product:- Melixir Vegan Bamboo Serum 1.7 fl oz.- This is a clear, gel like serum that is a bit more fluid than moisturizer but a bit thicker than other serums. It has a very light herby scent that I don’t mind at all. As you spread it out, it becomes more ‘water-like’.- The serum absorbs pretty quickly and it does have a slight ‘mochi mochi’ sticky feeling (but not too much so that your hair sticks) and that goes away after a little bit.My Impression:- I’ve been using this right after a shower or cleansing my face and it helps with the tightness from dry skin- I haven’t had any issues with irritation, redness or burning and have not broken out using thisConclusion:- Overall I do like this and this has been my go-to serum for a while. For those with super dry skin like me, you do need to put a moisturizer after this to really hydrate your skin and create a barrier, but for those without such dryness issues, I think you may be able to use this by itself and be hydrated. This does contain a lot of various plant / citrus oils though, so do double check the ingredients list for any sensitivities before using.

Not really noticing much difference, probably won’t buy again
Jury is honestly out on this one. I guess it might help a little, but really I’m not noticing any difference of this versus some cheaper moisturizing serums I’ve used. And for the price tag, I really want to see NOTICEABLE differences. I do like that it doesn’t have any scent and it’s easy to apply and the pump works well. It also says that it helps with acne, but I haven’t found that to be the case. I feel like my skin has been pretty much the same. Ah well.

I wanted to like this so bad!!
So this definitely does what it describes: gives your skin a hydration boost. I have normal to oily skin but because of a health condition tend to get sudden dry patches on my face that I was hoping this would help with. Which it did, a LOT! My skin texture felt super smooth and supple.My acne tends to be those big, deep, painful hormonal pimples only on my chin that pop up just one at a time and take forever to go away; I NEVER EVER get acne anywhere else on my face. I use proactive at least once a day to control my hormonal acne which controls them like a charm. However, this made me break out in teeny tiny whiteheads ALL over my t-zone, especially around my nose and ALL over my forehead, which again I want to emphasize NEVER happens to me. Itâs been a serious nightmare trying to get them to go away. Iâm really upset because it worked well for one problem but just created a whole other monster much more difficult to tame. Itâs taken about a month to get them to go away and even proactive hasnât helped much.Overall: if you have dry, non-acne prone skin, this is so nice for improving the complexion and texture of your face while providing some really deep hydration. If youâre oily, normal, or have acne prone skin, I wouldnât recommend.

Unisex easy to use K-beauty serum
This Serum from Melixir is an intense mixture of vegan nutrients. It comes in a rather serious looking dark tinted heavy glass bottle with a black cap. The serum is clear and light/medium weight. Itâs mostly unscented, maybe a hint of citrus if I really try to smell something. It absorbs super quick with nothing left behind. It seems to reduce fine wrinkles and surface dryness instantly. My skin is combination moderately sensitive, about to enter my 40âs skin, and this is pleasant to use and caused no irritation. I think this one is good for young to middle age. It may not be heavy enough for very mature skin.Itâs not a moisturizer in itself however, as are most serums, and directions say to follow with moisturizer, which I always do. From the looks and scent, I would say this is a unisex product for some range of skin, and can be shared between a couple as well.P.S. if the manufacturer is reading this, I would recommend printing either an expiration date or labeling the manufacturing date as so, in English. This is labeled with manufacturing date of 12/07/2020 in Korean style, and I received it early February, so itâs a fresh batch. But the way itâs written, it could be confused as expired in USA customary style.

I have used this serum nightly, for several weeks now after my showers. I have noticed my skin looking very soft and supple, feeling the same, and showing some very promising and good results. The serum itself comes in a very attractive bottle, and is easily distributed by a pump. The packaging and bottle itself are very high quality and they look to fit the part. Therefore right off the bat you would have high expectations of a good product. That being said the product is very good. my results with it have been extremely promising, and like I said my skin looks extremely clean and clear. I would use this serum before applying my moisturizer, and like I had mentioned before, just after taking my showers in the evening. I did not have any skin sensitivity issues or reactions after applying it. It went on nice and easy and saturated very well. All in all I’m very happy with the results, and as far as someone who is looking to up their skin care routine, I would certainly recommend giving it a try. I understand that for $42 for a serum you would expect very good results, but I’m happy to report that the results are certainly there.
