Light, nut-free, and non-irritating
The reason I bought this beard oil is because it is one of the very, very few that does not contain nuts in the form of argan, almond, shea, or other nut-based oils. I only found a couple others that were similarly nut-free, and both of those were very expensive.Might they be nicer than this one? I have no doubt. Both were full of fancy ingredients.This one is not. The oils are the sorts you could probably cook with.BUT the combination is light, has a nice non-greasy feel, and does seem to be improving my beard. I also like how I don’t feel like I have to hoard it; three ounces will go a long way.I am curious about adding my own essential oils to it (e.g. vetiver), but I have not done so yet. I’d need a tiny bottle first.Some have complained about the scent; it smells pleasant to me and almost like nothing at all. This really is a simple beard oil.And most importantly: NUT-FREE.I suggest that Marlowe consider marketing its nut-free nature more. Add beard balms and beard conditioners too that are nut-free. It’s all-too-rare in the beard world given the reliance on Argan in particular, and men with nut allergies should be able to have nice beards too.I should also note that I have sensitive skin, environmental allergies, and eczema (I know, really won the genetic lottery here; I promise I’m good-looking and smart to make up for it). This beard oil doesn’t irritate me at all, and in some ways seems to have decreased the irritation.

After four years (and tons of products) I think I found my beard oil
I’ve been growing my beard for four years now. I’ve tried almost all of the popular brands – some of them are great, some not so much. Some have great scents – some too weak, some overpowering. But here’s what I’ve found in my years of searching for the right product….simpler is better. I’ve tried all of the fancy scents – and while they may be good for a night out – for all day use, they just don’t hold up. And if anything, they actually make my beard smell worse come the end of a long day.Once I figured that out, I switched to simple oils. I was doing all natural coconut oil for a while – and while it is great, it didn’t give my beard a nice soft feel. So back to beard oils – the problem is that all of them seem to come in these dinky 1oz containers. I have a long beard – I use more oil. So it gets expensive fast!I came across Marlowe on amazon – and it didn’t have a ton of reviews, but the ones that were there were promising. I figured I would give it a shot. And here is what I am loving:1. Its unscented – like i mentioned above, I’ve come to not like scented beard oils. In addition, I have developed a sensitivity to scented products, so I am trying to steer clear of them. This product is unscented – and there is no weird natural oil smell.2. The size – THANK YOU Marlowe for making a larger bottle of beard oil. No more of these dumb 1 ounce droppers. I buy one bottle of Marlowe and I know it will last for a while.3. The dispenser – love it! The droppers in others are cool, but the dispenser for Marlowe lets you get a few drops or a bit more – super easy! And no mess.4. It works as a beard oil – this is most important. It leaves my beard feeling soft, no funky smell at the end of the day. I also don’t feel like it builds up like other oils. With my beard being longer, I don’t wash it every day to help preserve the natural oils and not dry it out. With other oils, it feels like they build up over a few days. The marlowe oil doesnt seem to do that. This oil also doesn’t give my beard that sheen that some oils do. My beard looks full and natural and that’s what I want!Definitely check it out!

Does it’s purpose, but doesnt smell the best.
I orderd this for my husband as a stocking stuffer for xmas. For the price it is great and does it’s job to keep his beard soft and conditioned. However, my husband pointed out to me that it smells like stinkbugs. I thought he was crazy, but I had no idea what it smelled like since I bought it online. I smelled the bottle and it for sure smells like stinkbugs in a bottle!! I dont know if he can smell it all day or if the smell fades away after wearing it for a bit, but just beware.

The internet told me I needed this….
The internet claimed my beard would be more awesome with beard oil. I searched Amazon for unscented beard oil, and bought the first one I found with ingredients I knew I’m not allergic to. My beard is softer and easier to style, now. A 3oz bottle was about $12; theoretically I could mix my own from various cooking oils for a fraction of the price. But I’m only using a few drops a day and the bottle looks like it will last for 8 months or more. Less than 20 cents A day.

Solid beard oil, does the job and you get heaps in the bottle for what you actually pay. Worth a try!
