The Hot Tools Pro Artist 1” Professional Gold Micro Crimper is the perfect styling tool to create crimped and textured hair styles. Flaunt fun hair in no time at all. Every time you use this crimper it creates light, textured crimps and added volume that will be sure to turn heads! A rheostat control dial with variable heat settings that reach up to 430°F allows for beautiful results on a variety of hair types and textures. Remember to always start at a lower heat setting and then work your way up to help reduce damage to hair. Different hair types need different heats to see the best results. A separate on/off switch makes it easy to control this tool to begin or end styling. The 8ft. professional swivel cord allows full freedom of movement for styling convenience. Voltage: 110V.
HOW TO USE:
Traditional Crimping
• Separate a 2-inch section of hair, gently place hair between the crimping plates and clamp the iron down firmly on the hair, work from the scalp to the ends of your hair.
• Leave the iron in fine hair for 5 to 8 seconds and for 10 to 15 seconds in thick hair.
• Carefully slide the iron along the isolated section, making sure to follow the wave in the hair. The ends will probably require less heat than the hair which grows closer to the scalp.
• For best results, hold end of hair while crimping the hair section.
• To remove hair from the iron, simply release pressure and allow the hair to gently slip out from the crimping plates.
• The styling process does not require overlapping; separate each section of hair and work on it as indicated above.
• Repeat the process until you have achieved the look you want.
• Allow hair to cool.
Detail Crimping
• Randomly separate 2-inch sections of hair all over and crimp as indicated above.
• Leave some areas straight to create your own individual look.

I have PCOS-induced hair thinning. And have struggled with loving my hair for a while now. I bought this crimper to add volume to my roots. And it does just that with wonderful results. This is my first crimper ever.Compared to teasing and texture sprays, with this crimper, my hair holds the volume and texture longer. For context, my hair is naturally curly and wavy, and thus holds texture, but lacks volume. So I drench my hair with a heat protectant, blow dry it straight, and then crimp the roots of the lower layers. Works like a charm. I love the body it gives – it looks more natural and not helmet-y.I have also crimped all my hair with this crimper, and not just the roots, and luuuuuuved the volume and texture it created, which is wonderful for updos and braided hairstyles. I slept on it, applied scalp serums, etc. for two days from crimping without losing volume.ALSO, this creates micro crimps. Which makes the texture look more natural – that is if that is the look you are going for.I have medium-thickness hair and thus get good results at 330 degrees. The included instructions give you info about temperature recommendations. It heats up within a minute.I was inspired to buy this device after I saw the $150 waffle-iron-looking root texturizer. And watched a lot of YouTube videos before committing to a crimper. And I’m very happy that I did. As I mentioned before I have wanted to love my hair desperately for a long time now. Have More Volume and Fresher Looking Hair Longer
Heats up fast. Works great. Easily adds volume where you need it. I crimp a section of my hair only, from root to mid shaft right at my crown. I lift the top layer of hair. Crimp the section underneath. Then lay the top down over it again to hid the crimped hair. No one can see it. And this helps add so much volume in that area without teasing. If your hair can hold a curl well, you won’t need styling products either. I didn’t like to tease because I didn’t like having knots or hair spray in my hair. With this, I don’t need either. I can also sleep on it and it still is fluffy the next day. It keeps my hair from looking oily (crimped hair does not stick together) in between shampoos. I can have more volume and fresher looking hair longer. Why have I just learned of this?!?!

If you have thin hairs like mine, spend average 20 mins blow drying your hair every morning to get more volume, get this hair iron and save yourself from the misery. I saw other expensive hair iron for volume on Fb and decided to purchase that specific product. After reviewing Youtube videos by professional hair stylists for hours, I decided to get this one instead. Works like a charm and now I can save so much time and no more hassle for more volume!! It is easy to use and heats up pretty quickly. And it looks fantastic when you are doing updo hair styles with so much volume, too! I bought this a few months ago on a recommendation from my hair dresser. She uses the more expensive Sam Villa version, but this one works exactly the same for significantly less money. I use it every day on my super fine hair to give it volume at the roots. It works perfect and does exactly what I needed to do. The crimps will last until you wash your hair. My reason for giving it four stars is a few items: first, it does not support dual voltage, and I travel quite a bit internationally, so this is a problem. Second, it does not have an auto shut off feature. The crimper gets very hot, and there has been more than one occasion I have accidentally left it on after going to work. An auto shut off would just be a good safety feature. Third, I find the 8 foot cord for my home use a bit cumbersome. I would prefer a slightly shorter cord. Regardless, I highly recommend this product to everyone I know with very fine, limp hair like me. I do like that it heats up fast and has multiple temp settings. I also like that that it doesn’t get so hot that I am able to hold the end with the plates to press the crimp faster and deeper. I use it for only a few minutes each day, that makes a huge difference in how my hair looks.

I’ve been using this product for about three months and am very pleased with the results
I have relatively thick, shoulder length, naturally curly hair, but I wear it blown straight or pulled back most of the time. I have experienced some slight thinning on the crown area. My hair dresser began to use a crimper near the roots of a layer of hair right around the crown, leaving a top layer to smooth over it. The crimped area, which she very light backcombs, adds dimension and texture, giving the illusion of fullness and preventing the hair from parting where I don’t want it to. My stylist uses as professional crimper which sells at more than $100. I purchased the Hot Tools Micro Crimper and am able to achieve the same results at a greatly reduced price. For me, it works just as well. I’ve been using this product for about three months and am very pleased with the results. I would definitely purchase this item again.

Great…but didn’t work past 1 time of using it!
I was excited to try this Crimper and used it immediately after receiving it in the mail. It worked beautifully, created definite volume and the look it gave was subtle, but edgy – which was perfect! I plugged it for a second time to try it on my daughter’s hair and 3 minutes later my daughter came running down the hall telling me that something smelled like smoke. I quickly went into the bathroom and realized that it was the new Crimper. Thankfully, no one was hurt but my house smelled awful for hours (and the Crimper still has a burnt smell to it) Needless to say, it is being sent back! It was a nice product….for the one time that I used it before it became defective â¹ï¸

LOVE this little crimping iron!I have been reacting to a lot of hair products like the powder that you apply to the roots of your hair to create volume before back combing.. and it was suggested to me that I look for one of these small crimping irons.Now that I have it, I am so SOOOOO glad!My hair is fine and the crimp really holds.I crimp under a layer of hair at the root to give the volume/ full look! It beats any other technique!This crimping iron has replaced all the products I used to use and react to, as well, I donât spend as much time blow drying my hair with a round brush as I used to and I donât back comb my hair anymore at all! This crimper tool is excellent. The heat level is quite impressive! I use it for volume at the root of my hair, for texture here and there and I even did a full head for a special evening. My hair was quite the traffic stopper! The waves are about half the size of the original crimper from the 80s. The texture is very fine and is great for detailing around the face. Also fun to use before making an updo for texture, and makes a nice effect when the hair is braided afterwards. A really fun hair tool to own!
