Very cool in many ways
This 24-pack of 6×9 soft-cover 6″x9″ cold packs is a great deal to refill first-aid kits, keep on hand at home, or carry with you to sporting events. First and foremost, this is a LOT of cold packs: It’s a heavy box, and chances are you won’t need all of them at once (but then again, I don’t know your life!) in any one place, so feel free to spread them around to your car, office, school, etc. There are PLENTY. Breaking the inner lining to begin the cooling process is a little nerve-wracking the first time, as it’s hard to gauge how much force is enough (or too much) to break the lining. My advice: Have at it; You’re not going to hurt anything but your pride, and eventually you’ll know when it’s “popped.” Once activated, it cools quickly and stays cool for a long time (certainly long enough to get you somewhere that has actual icepacks or other medical attention). Keep in mind that these are “cold packs” and not “ice packs”: They won’t freeze, but they’ll certainly be cold enough to ease swelling or discomfort from the school of hard knocks.

I like these instant ice packs, they came as a box of twenty four. I didn’t realize that they were as large as they are but they are the correct size as advertised. The outside of the ice packs feels like it has some kind of cloth coating, it is not plastic feeling at all. I couldn’t get the bag activated at first but my husband was able to do in seconds, I do have arthritis so that may be the reason. The ice pack gets cold quickly and it stayed pretty cold for about twenty minutes, then it starts slowly warming. These are great to have in an emergency or to keep in your car to have ready when you need one.

So sorry have to return the item, i was looking for an instant ice pack that when you squeeze the pack the content will turn to ice.I experience using an ice pack that becomes solid ice really when i suffered severe leg cramps while we are waiting for the train arrival at NY PENN Station. Due to severe pain i have to almost lie down on the train platform, the securities personnel wanted to call 911 at that time coz im writhing in very painful pain.One of the good train security or maybe he was an emergency personnel at the train station gave us that small pack and instructed my son to just squeeze it and lo and behold it really turns to solid ice which helps me with the severe leg cramps.(its my first time to see that kind of instant ice pack) I forgot to take the picture of the ice gel packet afterwards, so i tried this item.On hindsight, i wanted to call the NY Penn Station customer counter to ask about that brand of ice pack they stock for emergency but i cannot find their contact number or email address. I usually suffers bouts of cramps especially when im driving that is why im looking for that instant ice pack.For this item i bought, Unfortunately, after activation of the pack it just converts to cool water just like the water in the pitcher that you take out of the fridge. So sorry really to return the item.

Works in seconds
These instant ice packs activate in seconds after you break the liquid bag inside the pack it was still cold after around half an hour but we only used it for ten minutes because it’s seriously cold even with a cloth around it. the packs have a soft fiber like material on each ice pack on both sides so it’s not just plastic touching your skin but we still used a small cloth to make it more comfortable. All of the packs were in good condition we checked them all and the bag that held the reaction liquid was intact in each of the ice packs so none were activated on accident before we got them. Overall they work perfectly they’re sized well for use on a larger area and are really cold.

These are pretty awesome when you’re not able to use a reusable ice pack. It’s a little scary to pop the bag inside because it’s like being blind folded while popping a balloon by squeezing it…but that makes it kind of fun, too. Great for emergencies and travel.
