I was never going to buy a $400 blow dryer, no matter how fast it dried my hair. But seeing this new generation of dryers that have come on the heels of the original, piqued my interest. When this one became available for me, I didn’t hesitate to pick it.First impression, for $99 (price at the time of this review) you’d think they could have made the packaging a little nicer. Cheap box, arrived smashed and did the blow dryer no favors. The dryer is nice, feels like a quality build. It comes with the diffuser and the concentrator, and they are both magnetic like all the other dryers in this space. Parts fit well and are also of a good build, they don’t feel like cheap plastic. The buttons on the dryer are tiny and add a little sense I guess, of luxury. This dryer has 4 settings for temperature and 3 for power/speed and it’s plenty powerful. My extra long, less thick than it used to be, but still thick hair took about 5 minutes to dry. That speed is unprecedented, my hair takes forever to dry. It makes a slightly squealy sound when operating, maybe that goes away down the line, I hope so. I am impressed at the speed and that my hair isn’t staticy now that it’s dry. I love that I don’t have arm fatigue from having to move the dryer around for an hour.Maybe this isn’t as good as the $400 one, but for me, I am impressed and happy with this acquistion.

What makes this Vatsekui hair dryer appear different from others like it (ones that tend to replicate a considerably more expensive, particular high-end dryer in the $400 range), is the hole through the center of the rear of the back of the top cross piece. This hole is ringed by violet, metallic colored plastic; when the dryer is on, this area is bathed in different colored lights as the heat of the unit is increased.I have owned similar dryers (sans holes) and this one is as good as any I have used. It dries my short to medium length, fine hair quickly-in about three minutes. It leaves my hair without frizz. The air-flow is strong and can be moderated with a quality diffuser that attaches magnetically to the exhaust port. Or the flow can be directed to a narrow spot on the scalp via the âsmoothingâ nozzle (concentrator).Though this is hardly a silent device, it is less obnoxiously loud than many hair dryers I have used. Since I donât have to use it for long (again, it dries quickly), I donât mind the noise. It has three wind speeds and four temperature settings. I like to end each drying session with some cooler air and this provides it.The instructions remind one repeatedly to keep the air intake/outlet clean. It is easy enough to unscrew the base of the device and wipe out accumulated dust and debris that can clog the intake. But there is some confusion here. You are told to remove the attachment on the air outlet with a cotton swab. I am not sure how I would even do this. I am also not sure what it means when I read, ââ¦for best results, it is strongly recommended that you activate the automatic cleaning system to clean once every working day after use.â I have found no automatic cleaning system and donât see one labeled on the graphic. Other than some odd and sometimes contradictory language in the instructions, I find that this seems to be a sturdy, well-functioning hair dryer with quality attachments. I donât need a dryer that costs hundreds more when this one works so well.
