Very thick, gentle, with an extremely mild scent. Be sure to follow instructions!
This is a salicylic acid based face wash for acne. It advertises a citrus scent. I would say it smells very mildly like orange honey. I am sensitive to scents on my skin and in my nose, and this scent is almost unnoticeable which is great for me.I was also surprised how gentle it is. I have rosacea which often includes rosacea pimples. So many products irritate my face, and I sort of expected this one to. It did not! It felt nice and refreshing. The next day, I didn’t have as many rosacea pimples either.Be sure to follow the instructions. I did not at first and I realized that this stuff is REALLY thick. You want to put a very small amount in your hands, add lots of water, get a good lather and THEN wash your face. If you just stick the stuff onto your face, it really sticks on there!NOTE – You may have seen the line above my review that says, ”Amazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product.” So you may be thinking, ”Who cares what this person says because of course they will say nice things because they got something for free?!?” I know because I used to feel the same way when I read reviews!Well, you may not have realized this, but vine reviewers are subject to having to pay taxes on these items. So, in a way, it’s not really ”free.” Also, we have no reason not to give full honest opinions. We don’t get dropped out of the program for rating things too high or too low. Therefore, my goal is to review the products honestly and thoroughly. I hope that I did that for you today.

This face wash uses salicylic acid as it’s acne control rather than benzoyl peroxide, which means it’s not going to bleach your towels. The smell is a pleasant citrus scent. You use a tiny bit and lather it up and apply it to your face. You wash your face and then leave it in place for about 30 seconds. It can be a little drying but I think that’s good if you’re battling acne. It’s a good-sized bottle that should last a while.

Good face cleanser
I love the dispensing design, you twist the cap and squeeze it out. It’s also a great way to make sure you’re not using too much product. Less is more when it comes to cleansers. Make sure to squeeze out then lather then apply to face so that you have a good foam to wash your face with. The design of the bottle is very esthetically pleasing. I did not smell a weird odor, in fact I did smell the citrussy smell, which I love. It’s not too drying either. I’d recommend this product.

I dislike the feel
I was excited to try this product because it looked like it would smell or feel good somehow to me. Acne face wash can be a little drying just like all acne products. This does have a fun bottle in the sense that there is a little aluminum sticker over the top that you peel off and then you twist to open and the product comes directly at the top of the cap. That’s about the limit to where I actually like this product. I’m giving it a three stars because it does work. However it does have a strong “soap” feel in the sense that it goes on thick and then leaves behind that gross, dry, “squeaky” feel to the skin. It also is very much a chemical smelling product. I would describe it as very utilitarian but there are acne products that are actually pleasant to use so I would pass on this one.

Follow the Directions on the Bottle!
When I first used this, HOLY COW was it VERY Thick and sticky. It almost felt like I was rubbing honey right onto my face. Unfortunately, I didn’t take the two seconds to read the directions on the bottle. Instead of globbing a ton onto my hand and then my face, I should have used a small amount and rubbed it with my hands to form a lather first. My fault, but either way, this cleanser smells nice and feels really great once it’s rinsed off. It’s a good cleanser for my oily, acne-prone skin and I feel like it will last quite a long time as well.

I love the thick consistency so much!!
When it comes to using medicated face washes, I like to let them sit on my face for 10 minutes before washing it off. That gives the active ingredients time to sink in and do their thing. This stuff is thick and definitely stays exactly where I put it without running down my face. So I feel it’s way more effective those 10 minutes that it’s sitting on my face. If you want to do a quick wash though, just put a dot of product in your hand, add enough water to create a lather, and then apply to your face. I pour some in my hand, apply to my face, and then rub a little water onto my face to get a thicker lather. Salicylic acid does need a week or two of daily use to see results but seeing as this is a hefty 2% instead of the standard lower % of most otc brands, you could possibly see results sooner.

I really like this face wash. It has a citrusy scent that I find pleasant and not overpowering. It doesn’t take much to form a nice leather, and it rinses away very clean. It is great for my skin and very gentle as well. I use this along with retinol products and it causes no irritation. It is surprisingly gentle. I love the unique bottle and how the product dispenses for the top of the lid. I think the bottle is also large for the price and a good value. I’m really impressed with this and find myself reaching for it over other products. I will buy this again.

Lovely Lemon Scent, Tightly Clean Feeling
I love the scent of this face wash; it smells like yuzu lemons to me. Absolutely my favorite smell for face products. This is exactly how it is described; you can tell it is a wash to help reduce breakouts. It is too drying for my middle-aged face, but I can see how it would be perfect for a teen or for perhaps problem spots. It is a gel face wash, and a little goes a very long way so this bottle should last a while. It really seems to me to be a high-quality product, I wish I would have had this when I was younger and needed it. You will want to be sure to moisturize after washing with this.
