It really helps to get the toenail in the right position in the clipper. The clipper is very sharp, which makes it very effective. No more nails splitting when I clip them. Of course, I do have to make sure that I am not cutting the wrong place. There is only one area that could be improved: the locking mechanism. For storage, you can turn a little wheel to lock the clipper closed. Then turn the wheel again to unlock. Unfortunately, the wheel turns while I am using the device. When that happens, I have to stop and unlock, then reposition the clipper. Overall, this is a good clipper.
