Is this shrinkflation?
Iâve always had dry/brittle nails and peeling cuticles that would constantly be irritated and enflamed and after talking to my dermatologist, she recommended this brand and after two weeks, it works!!! It works wonders!!! The only thing that I complain about is the amount you get for the price. I mean, I knew it when I bought it, but seeing it in person is a reality check. So after Iâm done using this up, Iâll be making my own since I could get more product for less cost.Itâs great as a sample to prove that it works! But, cost wise, whewwwww boy! I feel like itâs a perfect example for shrinkflation, you know?Either lower your cost or make bigger tubs, you have have both! :/

Acrylic (aka fake) nails are not for me – this helped my nails recover
For my wedding last year, I went in for a pedicure and manicure. I let them talk me into acrylic nails, and had I known better, I would NEVER have done it. They were clumsy and I hated wearing them after about day 2. When I got home from my honeymoon, I tried DIY nail removal and my poor nails (my natural nails) took a beating from the pure acetone getting those stupid fake nails off. This nail conditioner helped smooth out my nails and make them a bit stronger while my natural nails grew out again. It also made the cuticles softer. I would recommend if you need to recover your nails from acrylic nail abuse or just to help keep them strong and cuticles conditioned. Helpful tip: use it at night and put on those “lotion gloves” over top of your nails for at least an hour, if not overnight. The nail conditioner is a bit “sticky” and you might end up with 10 pounds of fur or fluff stuck to your nails before you know it.

It’s the only thing that works
I am over 60 and noticed my nails getting worse and worse. Splitting as soon as the nail cleared skin, thin, ridges, and mishappen. Okay, so I garden, do dishes wash hands constantly, and use goof off and other chemicals without gloves. I have tried nail vitamins and collagen supplements and now this lanolin product. I like the ease of use and the greasy feel is not a turn off.I have used this product for 1 week and already there is great improvement. I put the stuff on as many times a day I think of it (3 to 5 times a day).It is a tiny jar and the cost of one jar per 3 months is acceptable because it actually works. Who knew the old nipple cream had other uses.

Improvement!
I’ve gone through 2 jars. Each jar lasts me about 2 months, maybe a little more. I have psoriasis which also effects my nails. My dermatologist suggested I buy this. I use it on my toenails and fingernails. My toenails were the worse. Dry, brittle. The skin surrounding my nails were cracking, dry, peeling and just ugly. This stuff has improved the look and health of my toenails! I think it’s also helping with the discoloration. I am happy with this product and will continue to use.

2 out of 3 nails cured – a 3+
I have been putting this on 3 fingernails with persistent vertical breaks at the top edge for over a year. After 6-8 months, the issue was resolved on 1 fingernail & thumbnail. I still have a problem with a fingernail. I’ve started applying over 5 times a day to see if that helps. Maybe it is?In any event, I recommend the small jar over the tube since you can more easily get to every last bit of this expensive cream.

You might want to try it too……
I am very happy to have found this product. I found it by accident on Amazon and decided to try it for my dry, brittle, aged nails with ridges. As you can see I have problems! For years I used a product from Fingernailcare.com called Natural Nails Growth Formula and it kept my nails in wonderful condition. One day the site was no longer there. I panicked and searched the internet for years to no avail. Then lo and behold Amazon suggested this product to me…..and I could swear it is the same thing! I have marked my calendar on the day I started this formula. In 6 months I will come back and report my results. I think I am going to be very happy! You might want to try it too……

Way, way overpriced!!!
I bought this product based on my dermatologist recommendation and the reviews and images presented here. Even though I have used another product that works, I thought I would try this to see if it was better. This is my first Amazon product review. (don’t work for any of these companies) I am writing out of frustration at this company taking advantage of consumers through their package marketing and pricing strategy. So many companies charge way too much for skincare products, and this is one of them. If this product were reasonably priced, I would not be posting here. But it’s not.Mistakenly (my fault) I did not sufficiently comprehend the size of this product. I failed to read all of the fine print about the amount in the jar. Was shocked at the tiny size of the jar. The picture makes it look like you will get a much larger jar and quantity. Then calculated the price per ounce (4 X .25 oz X. &16.99 = $67.96 per ounce). After I did this, I discovered this calculation in the fine print. So they have informed consumers. In my opinion, the price is outrageous! Shame on company’s marketers and leadership for overpricing. Shame on us as consumers (myself) for paying such high prices and for not doing better research on comparable products.I recommend that you try Vermont’s Bag Balm as another option. It was recommended to me by a different dermatologist years ago. I have used this a lot over the years, and it really works to moisturize and soften my hands and feet, especially in the winter. Before I go to bed, I put the balm on my feet and wear ankle socks so as not to stain bedsheets and to maintain the moisture. I also use the product on my hands and wear either thin glove liners or thin surgical gloves (suggested by my dematologist). The odor in the Elon product is similar to the odor in Bag Balm. Bag Balm was created in 1899 by a pharmacist as a salve for cow’s udders. This balm has an interesting history. People discovered several practical uses including softening and treating their hands/feet to treat dry, chafed and cracked skin.I compared the ingredients to see if there was something special or extra in Elon that would make it stand out.Bag Balm – petrolatum, lanolin, paraffin wax, water, 8-Hydroxyquinoline Sulfate ( .3%)Elon Nail Conditioner – Lanolin, petrolatum, beeswax, Sodium Oxyquinoline BorateThey have the same ingredients at vastly different prices. Bag Balm has a softer consistency and costs $5.99 at Walgreens, $6.49 at CVS and ranges in price from $8.99 to $11.99 on Amazon. (Obviously subject to change; did online research of current prices)Rating based on the price as there are cheaper options.
