Catch a case of the yawns with Dr. Seuss in this classic rhyming picture book. Bedtime has never been more fun!
A yawn is quite catching, you see. Like a cough.
It just takes one yawn to start other yawns off.
Dr. Seuss spins a sleep-tastic tale about a very small bug and a very big yawn that spreads and spreads. Meanwhile, the Audio-Telly-o-Tally-o Count adds up every sleeping creature from the country of Keck to the Castle of Krupp. First one, then seven, all the way to the billions and zillions, the Who’s-Asleep-Count just keeps growing and growing! This book is a perfect bedtime story that will have the most reluctant readers laughing, and the most reluctant sleepers snoring!
Ninety-nine zillion, nine trillion and two
Creatures are sleeping!
So…How about you?

Bet you yawn!
This is such a fun book! I have read this for kids and grandkids and I can’t get through it without yawning – but in a good way. I now read it to my grandkids before bed. They start yawning and do so through the whole book. And it’s not because I’m boring when I read it! Everyone in the book is yawning because it’s time to sleep. They love it as much as I do. It’s really great for any age and mine are 5 – 11 years old.

May put you to sleep, too!
I bought this copy for friends with a baby. I read my hand-me-down copy *hundreds* of times to my child over the years to get them to sleep. It often came close to knocking me out as well. The cadence of the prose varies from person to person, of course, but somehow the writing in this book is consistently, persistently soporific (sleep inducing).Whether this book is for your use of for a gift, I HIGHLY recommend this! I will be buying another copy for another friend next month…

I dare you not to yawn
I have given this book to every friend who has a toddler and it is nothing more that a complete success. Itâs like PsyOps against kids who refuse to sleep or at least chill out. The yawns are infectious and the book is a classic. When I read this to my kids when they were younger, the submission was impressive. The creatures and their bed prep routines are entertaining, the rhymes are perfectly timed and lulling. Zzzzzznngngnzzzznnng.

It will quickly become part of your bedtime routine!
I bought this book ten years ago for my granddaughter who was staying with us for a few months. She always got a bit fussy and would be adamant she was NOT tired. So, after all the teeth brushing was done (We nicknamed her bathroom ‘Herkheimer Falls’ after the falls in the book.) I read this book every night and she almost always fell asleep before the ending.I learned early on to turn the lights down to minimum, put on some soft classical music and to read normally at the beginning. After we got to the Who’s asleep score I started reading in a softer voice, getting ever more quiet. Between the ambiance & the wonderful imaginative rhymesand the rolling cadence of the rhymes they can’t help themselves How long do they want this bedtime ritual? My granddaughter just turned 11 and either her dad or I read it to her. (I got one for him after he got settled in a home near by). With the arrival of a new grandson I figured I’d better get a new one; the old one is getting pretty worn.

Dr.Seuss is a genius
This book has never failed to get me or my family to sleep. Itâs a classic and I have a hard copy too but I love having the digital version that way if a niece or cousin needs a bedtime story on vacation or something Iâm prepared

too long of a book for bedtime
It’s cute, but a little too long and drawn out in mine and my husband’s opinion. We love Dr. Seuss books and own many, so I wanted to add this to the collection, but it rarely gets read because it’s soooo lengthy.

I love Dr Seuss, and this book is the perfect intro to his work for my baby. It has been a part of her good night ritual ever since we bought it and she loves it. When she wasn’t so mobile, we used to read it as far as her fussiness would let us. Eventually we realised we only got as fas as the first few pages every night…That happened around the same time that she started becoming more interested in touching everything, including tearing things apart. After the first tear we started to simply recite the first few pages because by then we had learnt them by heart.Last night when I started the first few lines, she looked me in the eyes and smiled knowingly. It melted my heart.I love this book and the moments it keeps giving our family.

A lovely little book for kids. Dr. Suess’s language is good for older kids to help them with their advanced phonics. The larger print means they can read along and the illustrations are super iconic. My boy loves this book before bedtime, it’s a great way to get him to sleep.

The book is amazing. My nephew cannot get enough of it. It’s funny but long.
