I have been using Dr Hauschka hydrating cream mask for a few yrs. Donât be fooled by the texture, or rather the feeling of the cream, when applying it. It feels greasy. I was taken aback the first time. Once applied and let it do its magic, you will find your skin full, plump, hydrated and glowing. I have combination skin, in some areas it can get oily, yet this cream mask has not caused any issues. It has not caused my skin to become more oily. Be fully aware that not all skin is the same. What works for me might not work for another. Testing is always recommended when using any skincare product for the first time. But I have to say Dr Hauschkaâs products have been around for a while, with a great following, because they are reputable and reliable. Price point is not bad considering I use it as my weekly mask

Great moisturizing mask
I really like this product. It helps with moisturizing my skin especially in the cold winter months, it has a pleasant scent that is nice to smell while its on your face and it’s very easy to remove gently with a wet wash cloth. A lovely mask especially for those with dry skin.

Not limited to a wipe off mask. If you need an added boost to your moisturizer, it can be applied in a thin layer. Can even be used as an overnight mask. Their website explains more. “Suitable for use as a classic face mask or applied as a thin layer under your daytime skin care product”. I’ll add that makes for a great hand moisturizer too.Very rich, thick cream that spreads easily enough. Little goes a long way. I dot it on all over, then let heat of my hands to help it spread by gently patting slowly all over. I find this to be a really good product for my skin. I have liked most Dr. Hauschka products, disliked a couple. Not really loved any, but this is close. This is first that I would truly consider purchasing again. I love a rich, truly moisturizing cream for use in the dry, cold winter weather. I tend to use richer products as well as masks at night. This has easily become a staple, especially since it can really be used anytime. My 40 something, dry skin does well with these ingredients. I have rosacea and nothing in this is bothersome. It does contain fragrance through generous use of essential oils. Greasy Mask; Lots of Oils; Fragrance and Alcohol
The Dr. Hauschka Hydration Cream Mask comes in a flexible metal 1oz tube for ~$35 (at the point of purchase). It is safety-sealed, requiring the user to invert the cap to punch through the metal seal before use.Surprisingly a little goes a long way with the semi-thick white cream texture, as it has good spreadability. You could use it daily, but I think it would be a bit much. And I don’t think this mask is fitting for everyone.It is greasy; rather, it leaves behind a greasy residue. If you review the ingredients list, which the sales post kindly includes, you’ll see a copious amount of oils: sunflower, olive, avocado, sweet almond, jojoba, etc. Nothing necessarily wrong with certain oils in skincare, but they may not be suitable for everyone. Besides, oils themselves are not explicitly hydrating but help your moisturizer seal in the hydration by creating an occlusive barrier. To avoid, say, transepidermal water loss, as soon as I step out of the shower or wash my face, I lightly blot off some excess water, and with still moist skin apply things like toners, serums, and creams and follow up with facial oils, as needed. If you use a moisturizer after a face oil, it won’t be able to penetrate that seal and, as a result, will be less effective. This mask operates the same way. If I wash my face, apply this creamy oil-based mask, and remove it after 20-minutes, I still have a slightly greasy residue. Putting moisturizer on top of it wouldn’t give me the full benefits. But if I rewash my face after, I’ve essentially wasted wearing the cream mask. So you might be better off using a thicker, ceramide-rich moisturizer and applying facial oils tailored for your skin type over it instead of this mask if you are looking to enhance the moisture barrier.Not keen on the vegetable oil, added fragrance, and alcohol. Says free of synthetic fragrances and dyes, but they don’t source the scent other than the term “parfum.” I find the added fragrance to be unnecessary. It is light and not unpleasant, but it serves no purpose, in my opinion. I have sensitive skin and find added fragrances can be a gateway for possible irritation. That’s why I tend to lean towards fragrance-free in my skincare whenever possible.This mask is better suited for someone with dehydrated, dry skin who is not congestion prone.For reference, I have mature, sensitive, product-reactive, fair, acne-prone, congestion-prone, combination skin. I can use this, but sparingly. It is a hint too greasy for me. I don’t use olive oil in my skincare unless it is a rinse-off product. Think oil washes and balms used as part of a double-cleanse and are washed off with a water-based cleanser. This mask instructs the user to cleanse their face and apply this for 20-minute before rinsing and leaves a residue.
