D3: Works great for the proper hair type
If you purchased this brush to de-tangle your hair, unless you have short to medium, STRAIGHT and fairly FINE hair, you are going to be drastically disappointed! Try taking out a few rows of pins and it might work ok as a de-tangle brush. OR, better yet, skip this one and get yourself a proper paddle brush (or wide tooth comb) that is specifically meant to tackle wet tangled hair. Enough said about that, onward to my review why I purchased this brush.I have 2B-3A curly, dry-ish hair that always could use a boost of product and styling methods to make it curlier and to have the style last. This brush is perfect to STYLE your wet curly hair (once it has been de-tangled). I would say I have fine to medium density hair (but tons of it) and use a light leave-in AND then a styling cream (some use a hybrid creamy gel if it has some slip) to style my hair with this brush. You need some SLIP or it is not going to work. What the brush does is distribute your product (styling cream) evenly, helps to separate the strands, and because of the half round shape, can put a nice bend to your hair. All of that helps your hair clump and curl much better than using your fingers alone. Think of it a bit like finger coiling without all the time and effort.Depending on your curl type, you can get anywhere from nice loose waves to tight ringlets. I suggest checking out YouTube for some pointers on the different methods of use for this brush. Also, “seal” your styling with a gel; it will help hold it for a few days.My last “tips” are what brush to purchase. I have layered hair and my shortest hair (on the top of my head) is about 3 inches long up to bra strap length hair and the D3 works best for me on my longer hair. I feel that the D3 is a bit big for my shortest length hair and I have been experimenting with the D33 and D14 . So far, I think the top of my head is too short to get much benefit from any Denman brush so I do a combination of finger coiling and twisting the D33. Unfortunately that is also my “straightest” hair and hoping with time and the Denman I can train it to curl a bit better. If you have very long hair, you may prefer the D4 as there is a bit more surface area to make your styling go a bit faster. I have seen styling of the D3 vs the D4 and the end results are not that noticeably different. The D5 is similar but a heavier brush but I have never used it to know of any difference in styling your curly hair. And finally the D14 and D33 are best for shorter hair. I find they work ok on layered hair, but I would suspect either would be absolutely perfect for a single layer bob.One final note if you have very thick hair. You may wish to remove a row or two of the pins or else you might never be able to get the brush through your hair, no matter how much of a slippy cream you apply. You could also try the D41, or Free Flow. They come with less pins to start.Hope this exceptionally long post has been helpful. Good luck on your curly girl journey!

Helps me love my air dry days
I have 2c/3a hair, medium to long length, and live in south central US where there is fairly high humidity most of the year. It’s taken me a few years of getting used to skipping daily washes and minimizing my blow dryer use, partly b/c I never really knew how to style my hair on air dry days. I’d end up with a frizzy A-frame shaped do, or a lifeless, gel-crusted mop.I tried this brush after seeing it on a master class about hair. The woman with 3c used it to brush through small, damp sections of hair, then twist the section around her finger, let it loose, and then onto the next section. I tried this method, leaving my hair pretty damp and using a good curl cream applied throughout. I used the brush to also go back and gently give some lift from the root once i kind of had it placed where i wanted. I used a light hair spray as I finished each layer of sections. I’ve been doing this style once or twice a week now for a couple of months. This brush has made the difference in my confidence working with my hair. Even in dead summer the frizz is minimal, my waves/curls keep their shape without necessity of crusty gel, and I have actual definition. Not only has it helped me style on air dry days, my day two style is easier to manage. I can use this to gently brush out the sections to give me a nice, soft wave without it immediately frizzing. If I brush it out the night before and put it up, it’s even easier to deal with on day two.I don’t exactly understand how the brush does what it does, but I’d absolutely recommend it for wavy hair folks that want to define and control.Besides liking the fact that it works, I like that the brush is light weight, seems pretty durable so far, and is at a good price point. The handle is comfortable and the bristle pad gives. Just a great brush all around.

A Solid Addition to Curly Hair Care
The Jack Dean by Denman Curly Hair Brush D3 in the “All Black” variant has been a noteworthy addition to my curly hair care routine. While it hasn’t completely transformed my routine, it has certainly made a positive impact on the way I manage and style my curls. The 7-row design of this brush does a commendable job of detangling and separating my curls. While it may not be entirely effortless, it still minimizes tugging and reduces frizz compared to other brushes I’ve used. I appreciate that it leaves my curls looking fairly defined and shaped after use. The quality of the brush is evident in its sturdy construction and comfortable grip, making it a practical tool to have on hand.Although it falls a notch short of perfection, the Jack Dean D3 Curly Hair Brush is still a valuable addition to any curly hair routine. While it may not completely eliminate all the challenges of managing curly hair, it does provide a noticeable improvement. Its performance, combined with its sleek design, make it a respectable choice for those seeking to enhance their hair care regimen. If you’re in search of a reliable and effective brush for your curly hair, the Jack Dean by Denman Curly Hair Brush D3 is definitely worth considering.

Great Brush!
This brush works great! It is high quality and it worked great to help brush my hair to get it to fall into curl clumps. It has long, strong bristles which is just what I was looking for!

Imagine a brush that transforms chaotic mornings into moments of pure magic. This is the story of the Denman brush, a hidden treasure in the hair world, also designed for curly hair.Four years ago, a visionary hairdresser recommended it to my wife for our four daughters. The result? A revelation! Its ability to painlessly detangle and define curls is simply breathtaking. No more battling with stubborn tangles or fearing tears while styling.Unlike traditional cushion bristle brushes, which can be a nightmare to clean, the Denman brush stands out for its ease of cleaning. A valuable time saver for any dynamic family! But why is this brush so special? Its ingenious design with rows of nylon glides through the hair, separating each curl effortlessly. This is the key to well-defined, frizz-free curls.Every morning, using this brush, it’s like rediscovering the natural beauty of my 4 princesses’ curly hair. A true celebration of their natural curls, without the hassle or pain.Of course, no product is perfect. Some might find its price a bit high compared to regular brushes. But, believe me, it’s an investment worth making. Imagine that it has been 4 years that we have used it 4 to 7 days a week for 5 people but we have two brushes at home. Plus it never smells bad.If you’re looking for a miracle solution to taming curly hair, look no further. The Denman brush is your secret ally. It has transformed our morning routines and can do the same for you. A life-changing purchase, guaranteed!

Não gostei do cabo – quando estamos hidratando o cabelo, escorrega muito, não dá firmeza.

I owned a Denman brush like this in the late 1970s and used it to blow dry my hair. Still a great quality hairbrush, how refreshing that it is still a great quality brush.
