Best primer regardless of price
Iâve tried ALL the primers out there from drugstore to luxury and this is the only one that keeps most shadows on my hooded lids. From multichrome shades to mattes, this will work on me. The only shadows it wonât work on are those really emollient or squishy shades (that crease on almost everyone) or very glittery shades – for those you need glitter glue or just spackle! I use this sparingly on the mobile part of my lid each day and most of my shadows will last a good 14-16 hours with no problem. It is a sticky primer so I use a silicone based primer on my upper lids (Trish McEvoy) – do not set the sticky primer or it wonât be able to work its magic. Also, there is a ton of product in the tube. I generally just pull the stopper out of the top and use a small silicone spatula to extract a bit each day. If youâre relying on the applicator it comes with and start to think the tube is emptyâ¦itâs not, just pull that stopper out! Genuinely hope they never stop making this product.

I love this product. I use mainly eye shadow sticks, not powder. Other eyeshadow primers I have tried did not dry clear so affected the color of the shadow to lighten it, would still allow shadow to settle into eye lid creases, and were generally unsatisfactory. This is super easy to apply with the applicator provided, so no need to smooth it out with a brush or fingers. Drying clear allows the true color of the shadow to show. My shadow never creases. My lids are not left greasy or too dry. It does not bother my very sensitive eyes at all. Great product. I highly recommend it.

I will say it grabs your eyeshadow and does not let go all day long. The sheerness is nice, it doesnât tamper with my natural lid color.My only complaint is that it makes the shadow soooo hard to blend. Iâve been perfecting my technique for 10 years now and finally have a solid routine. So I was excited after reading reviews on this that I would have something to hold it in place as my days vary (activities, emotions etc) for a decent price.Typically I spend about 5-10 total on my eyeshadow depending on the look Iâm going for. My first day using this I spent 20 just trying to get everything blended and eventually gave up and went to work looking like I did when I was 14. Iâve tried a few different things to help with this and finally this morning I just tried setting it with a light eyeshadow before going in with my darker colors. Seems like a waste of time and product to me.Iâll definitely use the rest of it since I refuse to waste anything but I definitely wonât be purchasing again.

This Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette by Covergirl is absolutely beautiful and has some great shades for the fall. I found the colours to be quite pigmented and they went on really nicely, especially with an eyeshadow primer underneath. They werenât overly powdery like some eyeshadows I have used in the past so I didnât experience a lot a fall out.My favourite colours are the pink and brownish burgundy shades as well as the copper. I have created some really beautiful looks with this palette and I am excited to wear them this autumn with big cozy sweaters.It comes with an eyeshadow applicator but I prefer to use a brush for better blending. I have used this palette both with and without an eyeshadow primer and I noticed a big difference in how long my makeup lasted. It barely budged even after a full day of wear with the primer and it made the colours look much more bold and pigmented.
