This discoloration care face serum by COSRX has 100% become a game changer in my skincare routine! As someone with super sensitive and dry flaky skin, I haven’t noticed any irritation from using this serum, but instead it has significantly helped me maintain a healthy skin barrier. While I am using this serum to help with my hyperpigmentation from acne scars, I have also noticed that the texture of my skin and pores have become less noticeable since using this serum. The most noticeable difference is that this serum has instant anti-inflammatory effects. As someone who has stubborn red spots on my face, this serum is like a magic potion that makes the redness go away in an instant. When I wake up in the morning, my face looks visibly brighter and my skin tone actually looks more even! This serum has helped me significantly with keeping a healthy skin barrier as well as making my pores less visible in the process. There are a plethora of benefits of incorporating niacinamide into your skincare routine, and ever since doing so myself, niacinamide has become one of my staples in my skincare routine that I cannot live without (especially after seeing the significant improvement in my skin ever since using this serum).This serum is unscented, and while it does leave my skin feeling sticky right after applying it, if I let it sit for a minute or two, the stickiness goes away. After the serum has absorbed into my skin, I apply my moisturizer on top to help seal in the moisture. If you use chemical exfoliants in your skincare routine, you have to beware of using them along with niacinamide as it could cause irritation and redness. If you plan on using chemical exfoliants, then I suggest skipping this serum that day. Or alternatively, you can use chemical exfoliants at night and reserve using niacinamide during the day.

Causes breakouts for me
Nice feel, good amount of product for price, however I’ve been trying this in addition to my normal skin routine and this one product causes breakout for me. My skin finds this to be comedogenic. Sad for me, really liked the active ingredient list.

Fresh take on dark spots
The ingredients are exciting to me. It has Niacinamide which I’ve used regularly at night time from another brand to help with my dark spots. It works. But then this ALSO has Ferulic Acid and Glutathione. I’ve never used Glutathione before this product so to see the long term effects is exciting. I do have dark spots, especially when I am in the sun. It seems that during the winter time is when I manage to get rid of my dark spots just in time for the sun season to come rolling around again. Hopefully this will work to keep the dark spots at bay all together. Although you certainly want to make sure to wear your sunscreen. So far, this product absorbs quickly and is quite thin, giving a regular feel of a serum. You will need to moisturize after this, so use this as a beginning step, if not the very first step. Think thin to thicker on order of products to use in your skincare routine. This being thin, should be one of the first.
