Happy with my purchase
I bought this after I had an issue with my knee. I had been using a zip lock bag with ice…it leaked. This hot/ice bag works very well, perfect for what I bought it for. My knee was swollen and painful, the bag was the right size (9 inch), and flexible to lay across my knee…better yet, it didn’t leak. The mouth of the bag is big enough for adding ice cubes, which is what I used it for. It’s good quality, the price was reasonable, I’m happy with my purchase.

Could be great if it had a wider opening
This pack could be a 5 star product but if you have the common crescent shaped ice cubes, the opening where you feed the ice is too small and because of this, it is inconvenient. You cannot just put this product up to your fridge ice maker and fill it. The opening is too small for that if you have crescent ice cubes which I believe is probably the most common ice made by home fridge ice makers. That ice is long enough to force the consumer to fill this bag one piece of ice at a time. Two pieces of ice going in at once gets jammed almost every time, requiring the consumer to force the hard ice through. It should be mentioned that the bag has its threads located on the inside of the opening in order to screw on the cap. So, if one was to try and jam or force a stuck piece of hard ice down into the bladder you could damage the plastic thread. It seems like such an obvious and simple change to make this product almost perfect. I’ve had a total hip replacement a few days ago and I bought this ice pack for that purpose and it’s a very inconvenient situation when you are leaning against a counter in pain for 5 minutes feeding this bag one piece of ice at a time. These are first world problems I know. But, if the manufacturer would simply add an inch to the diameter of the opening so someone can then conveniently fill this bag in mere seconds by putting the opening right up to the fridge ice maker, it would be such an obvious solution. It’s almost absurd that they did not consider that in the design process. I love the material and the pack stays cold better than a $28 dollar hip pack that I bought along with 2 of these. It does feel a little wet when filled and there is some slight condensation but this bag outperforms others except perhaps the gel based ones in that area. I have thus far not had any issues with the cap leaking but if I start forcing ice through the top I will expect to cause leaking due to damaged threads. It’s a good bag but I’m just disappointed that I can’t simply put this thing up to my fridge and fill it with ice. I have to put the ice in a cup then pick 1 piece of ice at a time and place it through the cap. Now imaging doing that 30 times while standing on a totally replaced hip.
