Azzaro – Forever Wanted Elixir – Mens Cologne – With Notes of Raspberry, Cardamom, and Leather Accord

Cool first review. Blind bought it cuz I loved the EDP Intense and Parfum and because it just got released. It starts out with a sweet burst of raspberry then as it dries down you pick up more of the leather. It’s very sweet but masculine and very strong. Still testing the longevity but you can already tell it’s gonna last at least 8 hours and the projection so far is great.

Strong, in a good way. The perfect scent for those cold months.
The fragrance starts off with a heavy woodsy smell and levels out to a nice background scent. Right out the gate the freshness of the scent was apparent. I was able to get a solid 8hrs of fragrance out of only three to four sprays. Watch out when applying though as it is a more heavier scent and so far the longevity seems to last all day. The bottle size might seem small to some at first but since a little goes so long I can see this lasting me quite a long time.I personally like to use my fragrances themed on the current time of year. I would describe this as a fall and winter smell, it might not wear well during the summer months or in warm weather.Overall I like the strength and warmth of the smell. Value is definitely there since it’s such a powerful scent.

Meh – but good introduction to leather scents
Anticipating a departure from the ubiquitous fougère profile with the addition of a leather note, I was eager to experience Azzaro Wanted Forever Elixir. Regrettably, the scent profile proved to be more familiar than I had hoped, lacking a true sense of originality.The opening presents an intensely fruity and sweet accord, immediately reminiscent of the popular Jean Paul Gaultier creations favored by a younger demographic. As the fragrance evolves, a dominant lavender accord emerges, a note that has become increasingly prevalent in contemporary men’s fragrances. While the leather note is present, it remains subdued, subtly enhancing the otherwise fruity fougère profile and providing a grounding element. The lavender effectively tempers the leather, preventing it from becoming overly heavy and imparting a sense of levity and freshness. This combination offers a palatable introduction to leather scents for those who prefer mass-appealing fragrances, aligning with a distinctly designer aesthetic. However, for my personal preference, the lavender’s dominance prevents this fragrance from earning a place in my regular rotation.The performance is commendable, though the sillage and projection are moderate, making it well-suited for confined spaces such as cars and planes. The bottle design is visually impressive, but the lightweight feel, attributed to the plastic components and cap, detracts from its perceived quality. The atomizer, however, functions adequately.

Lasts all day and smells wonderful!
Was thinking of gifting this to my father (90yrs), but my son (30) grabbed it and fell in love with the scent. I do not know how to describe perfumes, so I wont even try but it smells wonderful, and my son says it lasts all day. He did not have to freshen up midday. It is a pretty “manly” scent so if you dont like that, you might want to pass.
