4. Gently press down on the blackhead/pimple until the impurity completely comes out and then move the tool across like the motion of spreading butter to remove the impurity out.

An Insanely Amazing Beauty Product – A MUST HAVE!!
I have been obsessed with these tools ever since I discovered them in a beauty supply store about ten years ago. All three of my kids have grown up with me picking at their skin with these – they actually call it “tool time”. lol If they have a blemish, blackhead, whitehead, etc, they ask if they can have “tool time” with me. My sons ask for help with the tool as often as, if not more often than my daughter. One of my sons has had a definite problem with acne and blackheads – soaps, Biore strips, and even prescription treatments weren’t enough to clear his skin – he constantly seemed to have these painful volcanoes that would erupt on his face and back. He and I would spend “tool time” together every weekend…and in about 6 weeks, his skin was remarkably clearer. I don’t mean a few blemishes cleared up – I mean the tool seemed to perform magic!I only knew of one tool style for a couple of years (the cup style with the little hole in the middle), then thought I’d hit the jackpot when I found the style that’s like a looped wire at each end. I have bought many, MANY of these two styles over the years, as they always disappear. Always. And no one ever seems to know where they go. Hmmmm. I had finally decided to see if Amazon carries these – I buy absolutely everything possible on Amazon, and the only reason I make so many trips to the beauty supply store is to get more of these tools. I was totally stoked to find the tool here – but I WAS OVER THE MOON TO FIND THIS ASSORTMENT! As sad as it is, I actually took a picture of the various tools and texted it to all three of my kids when I found these. That’s how excited I was to find these. And the price?! Are you kidding me?? I’ve been spending $10-14.50 for EACH tool all these years. (Yeah – that’s why I’d get so annoyed when they would disappear almost as fast as I would replace them! I’m sure I would probably fall over if I looked under my daughter’s bed and in her closet – there are probably tens of them in/under there…but I’m not brave enough to go look!)So the shipping on these was super fast – and like I said, the variety is INCREDIBLE. We all now have our favorites. All of the tools are easy to clean – I use an alcohol soaked cotton ball and/or cotton bud to rub the tool. I also soak them in hot soapy water when I was my makeup brushes. The different sizes and shapes of the business ends of the tools mean you can detonate many sized issues, from the very small to the obscenely honkin’. And let’s just be honest here – who doesn’t like to get that crud out of there? Who doesn’t derive a deep satisfaction from knowing you have brought forth that nasty mound of gunk? Or gotten downright giddy over witnessing the long, white, threadlike snake quickly pullulate from the depths of your dermis?? If you deny it, you’re lying. It’s a sick fascination everyone seems to share. I’m not saying you have to admit it publicly, but you know I’m telling the truth. If possible, start by washing your face (or the area you are going to work on). I wash the area with warm water and “soap” before wiping with alcohol. It can also be especially helpful to apply a very warm, wet (damp) compress. The best way to use the tools is to begin with a gentle touch. Let the tool do the work. Pressing hard on the tool usually doesn’t produce better results – it just leaves you with a deeper (temporary) indentation in your skin. I find it works best to place the affliction within the parameter of the tool. (I usually start with the oblong “wire” tools, since that is what I am most familiar with.) Pulling the tool across the skin, but not over the blackhead or pimple or whatever, usually works the ick loose. Depending on the depth of the gunk, it is generally helpful to pull the tool in several different directions, being mindful NOT to scrape over the blackhead, etc. A snake-like plug should begin to grow as you pull the tool around it. (Gross – but it’s gross in a strangely cool way, isn’t it?) If you aren’t having much success, or you’ve kind of loosened the plug by pulling the tool, I place the offending defect in the middle of the tool opening and apply pressure – gently at first, but increasing in strength. To make sure you have cleaned out the spot as well as you can, you can move the tool handle around like the hands of a clock, without moving the position of the tool around the follicle. Moving the rounded edge of the tool a little closer to the spot can also help to express any remaining nastiness. Removing the tool and wiping the area with an astringent, witch hazel, alcohol, etc, is good practice as well. Basically, I try to keep the area as clean as possible throughout the process – you don’t want to cause additional issues around the area you are trying to fix!We have even used the tool to gently scrape a stinger from a foot from an inconsiderate bee!Bottom Line: I LOVE THESE TOOLS. They are as important in my beauty routine as soap, water, tweezers, and toothpaste. These are fantastically awesome at clearing skin nasties. The price is incredible, the shipping was very fast, the tools are high quality, and the variety is insane. I cannot recommend these highly enough!!**These are just the steps I take – I am not recommending you follow my explanation, nor am I suggesting this is the best way to handle somewhat superficial skin lumps, bumps, volcanoes, etc. I’m only explaining what works for me.**

facial maintenance from a guy’s perspective
I’ve always had a pimple or two on my face since my teens. They’re persistent and at their worst, cringe-worthy—I mean like squirting then gushing pus, and followed by bleeding. Eating MSG and oily foods usually are the main cause of my zits. I think oily skin equals oily, clogged pores. I have been using Biore pore strips for over 10 years now. They work pretty well and keep my face clean, but the strips are pricey. I sometimes can’t help but squeeze out blackheads/pimples using my nails in between face washings and pore strips. I recently saw a video featuring a doctor using a “comedone” to extract a patient’s blackheads. The video is pretty gruesome to watch. It looked like silly string was coming out of the pores, and the doctor claimed the patient’s blackheads were 12 years old! It was nasty but also slightly satisfying to watch. After learning about comedones, I decided to find them on Amazon.I looked at quite a few and these are the highest (and most) rated. I started using one for the first time yesterday. My goal is to be able to squeeze out clogged pores without leaving scars and without pain. This accomplishes the latter very well and the first fairly well. While these tools aren’t painful to use, they do sometimes leave a circular indentation if I press down too hard on my skin, especially my nose. However, though I’m worried about a bit of permanent scarring, this hasn’t happened with the comedone. I can say for a fact it has happened before when I used to pinch pimples with my fingertips/nails. I’ve recently read that you’re actually not supposed to use fingers/nails as this causes scarring–instead, the comedone applies even pressure around the pore and doesn’t scar. Just keep in mind a good amount of pressure is needed to squeeze impurities out of your pores so this isn’t 100% pain free…The kit comes with a few comedones of various sizes. There’s even one with a sharp needle-end. I have no idea what it’s for and frankly, am a bit scared–does it pop things? I can see myself using it on a balloon, but my face? Probably not.The tools are sturdy, yet lightweight and fairly simple to use. I cleaned them off with a cottonball dipped into rubbing alcohol. Instructions are provided on how to use these, but no explanation is really needed–just place device over your zit, exposed in the hole, and push. Black heads/pimples/buildup will come out, and then you scrape it up, taking the impurity with the head of the device.I’m enjoying cleaning my pores with these. Hope they help you as well.

    Actually works!
I had seen tools like these being used by professionals so when I saw something similar being sold here for a good price, I jumped!I’m actually amazed by how easily it removes some blackheads and white heads, ESPECIALLY the ones on my nose which are really difficult for me to do on my own. I can just run the smallest tool over my nose and pick up a bunch of gunk I wasn’t even trying for. If you follow the directions on the box, it’ll be better for your face than if you try to pop them with your hands and you can start to see which ones are actually ready to pop and which ones need more time so you don’t do damage to your skin.My only complaint is that I’ve been pretty much exclusively using the smallest size tool and at times, it’s still too big. Maybe my pores are really small? I don’t know. But sometimes even the smallest one doesn’t apply pressure in the right places and doesn’t do anything for me for some spots.Otherwise, I’ve been very happy with it!

    Excellent extractor tool kit!!
I posted this review because I was having a difficult time shopping for this product based off varying product photos being advertise, along with varying photos in the review section. This is an excellent tool kit for extracting pimples, blackheads, and milia. The tools are high-grade surgical stainless steel, easy to handle, and work well. I purchased this set along with one other (skinpal 100 by Suvorna 4 piece set), to have all of the instruments I was looking for. I would certainly recommend this product to friends and family.
