DermaHarmony 5% Sulfur and 2% Salicylic Acid Liquid Castile Soap can be used as a soap, shampoo, or shaving soap. It is ideal for relief of itching, redness, irritation, scaling and flaking associated seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, and psoriasis – particularly on the face and head. The soap is safe for daily use by adults and children. We’ve kept the ingredients as natural as possible (see ingredients list below).ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: 5% Sulfur and 2% Salicylic Acid.
INACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Water, Saphonified Olive Oil & Coconut Oil: (Potassium Oleate and Potassium Olivate), Sodium Acrylates / Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Crosspolymers (a plant-based viscosity modifier and emulsifier used to suspend the sulfur and salicylic acid in the liquid), Pumice (pumice powder helps to scrub away dirt, oil, and dead skin), Glycerin (a super hydrator that leaves your skin with a moisturizing and smoothing effect), Acrylates Copolymer (a plant-based rheology modifier that aids in thickening and suspension of the sulfur), Citric Acid (a weak organic acid found in citrus fruits – used in soaps to provide better foam and water-softening).
DIRECTIONS: For best results use daily or as directed by your doctor. Work up a lather using warm water and gently massage into affected areas. Soap should stay in contact with affected skin for 60-90 seconds. Rinse well. Use on affected skin or scalp in place of your regular soap or shampoo. In case of accidental ingestion, contact a physician or poison control center immediately. Rinse with water if soap comes into contact with your eyes (the soap will sting).

Seems to work well for my skin
So far this cleanser/castile soap with sulfur and salicylic acid seems to agree with my sensitive and acne/irritation-prone skin. My skin can be very finicky and will look great one day and then irritated the next, especially during the past year and a half due to health-related things. This cleanser does a good job to remove oil, dirt, and makeup without over-drying and seems to help calm and soothe my skin a bit while helping it to clear up. I do like the subtly gritty texture and the sulfur smell is not so intense that it cannot be tolerated while using. After all, it’s sulfur, we know what that smells like so it is not surprising that a product containing sulfur would have a very distinct aroma. If it did not, I might question whether or not it actually contained sulfur as an active/primary ingredient. It is a small bottle at just 4oz. but I do not find myself needing to use a large amount each time I wash my face. I will most likely continue to use this product for a while.

My skin likes it!
Great soap for oily skin. Not drying.

Not a miracle, but it seems to help
I have been using this to wash specific rosacea areas on my face in the shower. It seems to be making a reduction in breakouts in the rosacea area, but its definitely not the miracle for which I’d hoped. I’ve used it for a month now, and will continue a while longer with it. If you are sensitive to sulfur you will definitely smell this even after washing it off. After I wash with this, I have to rewash with another pink grapefruit style facial soap or I will be smelling it all day. I only use an amount the size of a quarter each day. At this rate the bottle will last a very long time, possibly a whole year. Whats funny is, even at the small amount of this soap I use, I can smell sulfur remnants in my shower each morning before turning the water on. I can also smell it when I shave– I think the odor sticks in your hair folicles, I’m not sure I’d use it in my hair ever. At 5% sulfur, I can deal with this, but this makes me think there is no way I could handle something like prosacea which has 10%! eww. SO- my advice, give it a try to see what it does for you– the cost is fair and it seems to work as good or better than other otc products.

Best mild face cleanser for fungal/hormonal acne
I credit this soap for clearing my 37 year old skin better than anything I’ve tried since my acne got worse at the age of 31. I have both hormonal and fungal acne. I get seborrheic dermatitis in the winter and my skin is sensitive to over drying, prone to inflammation, hyperpigmentation, long lasting red spots, dullness, flakiness and oiliness. I finally began research EVERY ingredient in the products I use and I somehow stumbled upon this soap. The salicylic gets into the pores and has reduced the number of blackheads and oil build up in my T zone. It seems to reduce overall oil production but because it rinses off it isn’t too harsh or over drying. The sulphur reduces inflammation and has both antibacterial and antifungal properties. My skin has never been so smooth, breakouts are less severe and heal faster with less inflammation, flaking, red marks and hyperpigmentation. I can wear foundation (ones that pass my ingredients research) without it melting off my face. This is the first winter in years that I haven’t had a seborrheic dermatitis outbreak. I am no longer embarrassed to have my face photographed. I use a very gentle cleanser first to remove the majority of the debris and then use this once daily and I have not had the need to increase use to twice daily but perhaps I will to see if I can eliminate even the minor breakouts.

Better than some
This product does not have a strong sulfur smell. Oh, it is not unscented, but it is very tolerable, and compared to some other brands I have tried, the odor is “almost” non-existent.A little goes a long way, so it appears pricy up font, but it does last. You only need the amount of a small green pea to cleanse the face.It is not overly drying, so not irritating, and it works as well, or better than the prescription Salicylic Acid and Sulfur soaps, at a cheaper price. So, if you are using the Rx product, you could probably switch to this and do just as well.

Effective.
This is an effective treatment, but the bottle is quite small.

Exactly what I want
This is the exact kind of product I am looking for. I have oily skin and used to have quite a bit of redness on my face. The salicylic acid attracts the oil, while the sulfur reduced the redness and stubborn closed comedones on my forehead. I use it every night. Make sure to leave it on your face for 2-3 minutes to give the active ingredients time to work.

BUYER BEWARE- everything you touch will permanently stink
I bought this to treat dandruff after other shampoos didnât work. I suffered through 3/4 of the bottle before I gave up and went to a dermatologist- nothing is worth having every towel and pillowcase I touch smell like sulfur. I started doing a second wash with a different shampoo to reduce how much it smelled, and would spend 5+ minutes rinsing it out. Even so, the smell gets EVERYWHERE. Even my hand towels somehow absorbed it. Multiple washes with detergent, vinegar, or baking soda all have not removed the smell, and I deeply regret buying this product. Granted, I am sensitive to smells, so maybe it wonât bother everyone.
