I love that this has a clean scent. It smells like a combination of body soap and sunscreen which gives it a out of the shower masculine scent. I learned that it’s been made since 1792. Men use to put it on handkerchiefs so when they sweat and wiped off the sweat, they kept smelling clean

Another favorite fragrance
This is one of my old time favorite colognes although I use it as an aftershave. Made in Germany and marketed as the original Eau de Cologne, 4711 has been around for a couple of centuries as I understand it. Being an old guy now, I can recall seeing ads for 4711 in Playboy magazine back in the 1960’s so I never thought of it as anything other than a man’s fragrance. Only later did I find out that ladies like it too and that it is marketed as being gender neutral. To my nose, it’s brisk and sharp, citrusy and fresh with a floral hint. It’s very light, not overpowering. The scent fades to the background rather quickly, leaving a light fragrance on the skin that’s only noticeable to others when they’re very close to you. I like that–I don’t want to knock other people over with my fragrance but I want to smell nice to those close to me.This stuff has always been pretty inexpensive and it still costs less than most modern colognes/aftershaves pushed by high end cosmetics companies. Smells better as well. Recently I became aware of Florida Water by Murray and Lanman, another near ancient fragrance, this time made in the USA–also for about two centuries. I have to admit, I now like Florida Water a little better than 4711, especially since it costs quite a bit less. Both fragrances are close in scent, based on citrus and floral components with the Florida Water having a little better balance in my opinion. Give them both a try if you like the overall light fragrance.

I have a lot of cologne, from CK, Chanel, Dior, Tom Ford, YSL and everything in between. So, you have to trust me when I say that I wouldn’t buy this if it costs one penny per gallon. You’re better off buying buying the cheapest CK you can find. Don’t waste your money.The smell is horrendous. It smells like wilted flowers in stale water. It’s not fresh at all. And this is not on my skin; I mean directly in the bottle. And when I actually wore it, the smell was gone within the hour. Actually, I’m glad it faded away so quickly because the stench was horrendous.The only reason why I bought this because it was supposed to be a classic and it had such a high rating. I did read that it wears off quickly but my aim was to use it as a body splash for the gym. I have no idea what is wrong with people giving this cologne such a high rating. Perhaps it’s the “Made in Germany” thing. I assure you, that doesn’t mean much.

As good as it’s ever been
In an age crowded with too many forgettable perfumes that all seem to smell alike, it’s good to know that some classics never change. I’ve enjoyed this wonderful scent for most of my adult life and was a little concerned when it came time to reorder since some reviews claim that the formula is “different” somehow compared to older bottles or (more dubiously) scent memories, which are always subjective. That said, I’m happy to say that the content of the bottle I received is just as wonderful as I remember – and more importantly, compared favorably to the older 24 oz. bottle I’ve been using for the last ten years or so. Right out of the bottle the new one is a little “thinner” and more herbal-forward than the older version I have, which emphasizes the citrus notes more on top – but after a few minutes, both smell identical to each other, with the same soft herbal and light musk drydown as long as it lasts. (Which isn’t long in either version: As for complaints that this isn’t “long lasting” … well, it’s not supposed to be! That’s the whole point of an eau de cologne. The fact that this is about as low priced as you can get means you can refresh yourself with it as much as you like. Talk about an affordable luxury!)

Cuando dije que nunca la habia olido, queria decir que no la habia olido directamente de la marca original, puesto que hay muchas coloinas de bebe y de adultos mas baratas que se parecen y mucho, pero algo muy distinguible de las copias y de la original es que, la de muelhens tiene un aroma muy natural, a diferencia de los qumicos de las copias. La verdad sientes como si anduvieras entre arboles de frutos citricos y lograr visualizar una pradera por la ma̱ana y en que porl la tarde la lavanda calma tu dia, no se como describirlo pero asi lo siento yo. Ahora en cuanto a duracion no esperes mas alla de 15 Р30 minutos de duracion es solo una colonia muy antigua y primitiva, por lo tanto no tiene duracion potencial, pero hay que comprender que la casa perfumera tenia intenciones de hacerla como la original, y en 1799 aun los perfumes no duraban casi nada, para esa epoca si ponemos en contexto debe de haber sido algo magnifico, pero para nuestra epoca ya no tanto hablando de duracion. Por lo cual considero que esta fragancia y COLONIA ORIGINAL es una belleza para quien guste de los perfumes o los de el valor que se debe, ademas es historica y por ultimo la volveria a comprar de nuevo las veces que sea necesaria, la verdad el aroma es unico y genial, refrescante y es unisex a cualquier persona la gustara. La ocupo, para salir en fines de semana, para despues de ducharme y para deleite personal vuelvo a reaplicar varias veces durante el dia y con eso estoy feliz.

It lasts 4 to 6 hours on a good day, usually 3 hours, and needs a top up every now and then.The scent is perhaps the most clean, fresh and energizing, that I’ve had the pleasure of wearing for the last 10 years.
