So far so good!
Havenât used it yet but I was wondering what the proportions and sizing of everything was prior to ordering, so I wanted to share an unboxed video for anyone else who is curious. Iâll update this review with a video of us using each component! So far so good, the color is gorgeous, and everything is just large enough to be useful, and small enough to be convenient to use and store. âºï¸

Powerful, compact, multi-use kitchen appliance
I have a number of various brand kitchen appliances including a multi-purpose full size Ninja blender/food processor that I use regularly and am extremely happy with. The Nutribullet Ultra Plus+ 3-1 Compact Kitchen System is in a similar class with a powerful motor, modular top system and aimed at being a multifunction kitchen device. Though smaller I would say this is better than most full size appliances, it’s certainly not whisper quiet, but it is quieter than most of them too (but still “loud”). If you have limited storage or space, I would recommend this for medium duty, small/medium size prep work or as your countertop smoothie maker. Really impressed and think that it represents a good value for the cost if you want to purchase one device to take over the duties of a lot of manual prep work and a blender.

Nut milk maker, smoothie maker, chopper, powerful, and XL cups with lids
I ordered the nutribullet® Ultra Plus+ Compact Kitchen System Gunmetal Gray, and I love this set. I’ve been using the same old, little bullet mixer for years since it still works fine. When I saw this I almost passed until I realized I deserved to update and upgrade my life, so this is a present to myself. This is a nice set with several options. The two cups it comes with are huge, and definitely much larger than what I was used to since they are 24 and 32 ounce cups. They have two matching lids which are perfect for drinks on the go. Both of the cups fit in my car’s cup holders too so that’s really nice. There’s also a chopper/dicer/shredder option as well as a grinder. The unit in general is heavy duty. There are suction cups underneath where it sticks to your counter which is nice to have, but you have to use a little bit of strength to pull it up each time. If you properly align each type you are using, you will see the unit light up the power buttons. I had a little trouble with the food processor at first and getting it to line up, but after I did it it seemed self-explanatory and I don’t know why I struggled so much. I didn’t have any trouble with the other attachments. The main reason I ordered this was to upgrade my blending game so those are the attachments I would use the most. I did want to try out each option, however. What completely blew me away was how much power this machine had. I was so used to the little bullet, I was shocked how much power ran through this. I was so excited, I just had no idea what I was missing for so long until I had this. It’s pretty loud. It makes excellent smoothies, and it’s nice to have much bigger cups especially because you can make more than one serving at once. Everything is easy to clean.Grinder-I put some organic coffee beans in the grinder, and it did a good job without much effort. I don’t feel I will use the grinder that much, but I wanted to test it out.Chopper-I tried to chop up some peppers, and it did it effortlessly. They were diced and extra tiny. Because they were so small I think I would rather chop them up with a knife instead, but there are certain veggies that this would be perfect for especially onions. I will need quite a bit of time to test out other foods when I have them on hand, but I look forward to it. I haven’t been able to test the shredding blade yet, but everything else was impressive so far.Nut milk-I have a nut milk maker, but this is great for making homemade alternative milks. In fact, it’s better than my nut milk maker, and I’ll tell you why. My milk maker only makes small portions which is about half of the capacity of this unit. It also takes about 5 minutes. When I made homemade walnut milk with this which is just walnuts and water, it was made in about 20 seconds. It also was thicker and creamier vs my thin milk from my actual nut milk maker. This just has the ability to whip it up to a thicker consistency that’s more aligned with a real milk texture and consistency. So, I’ll be using this unit instead and putting my nut milk maker in storage.Nut butter-I plan on making some homemade nut butter next with just plain nuts and water as I need limited ingredients. Some people add oil, but I don’t need it.Hummus-This makes great hummus. I just put some chickpeas in and water. My particular chickpeas/garbanzo beans had seasoning, oil, and lemon already mixed in so I didn’t need to add anything else. Most use tahini and garlic, but I don’t always. In fact, sometimes I just use chickpeas, water, salt, and lemon since I don’t like too many seasonings or additives especially if it’s going to make my breath icky. LolLongevity is obviously important, so if I notice anything I will come back and update, but so far I am really happy to have this set as it truly upgraded my life, thank you.

Comparison to Vitamix
I’ve been a VitaMix user for decades. This review will compare the Vitamix and the Nutribullet.First, the Nutribullet is amazingly high powered for its size. I’m very impressed. I’d say the Vitamix is able to get to a level of smoothness when blending certain hard items that exceeds the Nutribullet in the same blend time, but not by a large margin. And for fruit smoothies, there really isn’t a difference. The Vitamix shines for making large batches or ridiculous smoothness when blending really hard things like nuts for nut butter, or making plant based nutmilks, or gravies. The Nutribullet shines for small portions, and especially as a protein smoothie blender that you keep in your workout room. It also would be great for a single person who wasn’t interested in a huge Vitamix machine and doesn’t intend to use it to make elaborate meals or blend really hard things. For its size, and cost, it has truly amazing power. Here’s the recipe I used for a protein smoothie:½ cup frozen blueberries1 cup high protein soymilk1 frozen banana broken into chunks1 scoop pea proteinThe Nutribullet blended perfectly with no choking or stopping, and was fully smooth within 30 seconds. The second time I replaced the banana with frozen strawberries and three pitted dates. This time it got too thick to blend, so I took it off and shook it once, then put it back on and it blended perfectly with no stopping. The grinder attachment works really well also. I used it to powder some flax seeds with it did with no issues. If you drink a lot of protein shakes, or want an unbelievably capable coffee grinder, this is a great blender for you. It would also be a good choice for a single person who wasn’t wanting to use it for a lot of large meals or extensive blending of hard ingredients. I think the Vitamix and Nutribullet actually compliment each other nicely. Tor someone who spends a lot of time cooking, you might want to get both!Overall highly recommended!
