Bad Lid
The Gesso itself is great! Smooth, thick, and creates a great painting base! The lid to the tub, on the other hand, is incredibly difficult to open after your first use. It is such a flexible soft plastic that it just gives instead of actually turning, making it almost impossible to open.

Decent Coverage but Falls Short in Texture and Application
I was hoping for a smoother surface that would allow my acrylic paint to glide effortlessly. Unfortunately, the dried finish had a grainy texture that hindered the painting process. On a positive note, the product offers fairly good coverage, effectively whitening the surface without requiring multiple coats. However, due to the texture, Iâll likely return to using Liquitex Gesso for a more refined finish.

Iâm used to Utrecht gesso but this is just like it. Nice and dense, thick and effective. And cheaper.

Iâm an amateur crafter but this is hands down the best gesso for two reasons.Itâs good value.It gives amazing coverage over my lumpy plaster and sculpture works. It has the consistency of delicious cream cheese. Also dries a beautiful bright white. Highly recommend it.
