I like the massager it gives a good deep massage but after only 2 months of use almost every day the second speed stopped working it was the only speed I used but I wouldnât not recommend it because I did use it a lot and Iâve owned other Homedics massagerâs and they are very well built I had my last one for about 20 years at this price itâs worth trying youâll be happy with it3/28/24The massager doesnât work anymore and canât get an exchange from Amazon because itâs more than 30 days I can no longer recommend this item stay away from this model.UpdateI got in touch with Homedics and they replaced the massager it was covered by the manufacturer warranty so Iâve been using it regularly daily and have had no issues with it at all so I change my prior review to I definitely recommend this item works great beyond expectations the vibration speed of this machine is incredible I hope to enjoy this massager for many years

Works Well, but Awkward and Heavy to Hold
I purchased this as a home treatment while also undergoing PT and professional massage, to deal with severe Piriformis Syndrome affecting numerous large muscles, resulting from a torn miniscus on the alternate knee. I am not an athlete and have not used a massage gun prior to this. It worked well for gluteus maximus muscles, and while it also worked for gluteus minimus and piriformis muscles, it was a bit more difficult to get deep into those muscles or their trigger points when using it on myself, though still possible. It was helpful for pain and throbbing of upper thighs and down calves, as well, offering good relief during use. The massager offers 4 strength levels and is strong and effective. However, the heat function took quite a while to heat up and was not as effective as the overall massager itself.The biggest drawbacks are the weight of the massager and the unwieldy nature of the device owing to its overall size, making it somewhat top-heavy. Nevertheless, this would not be a deal-breaker given the strength of the massager. Its size was helpful, however, when running it down the legs, for instance. Using it for several months it offered me welcome relief at the moment and over time. The noise level is reasonable and well within what you might expect from such a device. For instance, it is no problem to hold a conversation with others while using the device. This is the first massage gun I have tried, but I would say it is a very good value for the money and a good, quality product to try as a first purchase.

Buying a second one
This was perfect for my tight shoulders and neck. I have also used it on my arms, legs, and the most painful part, beneath my shoulder blades. The handle is comfortable and easy to hold over my head to reach. It got fried by a faulty power strip, so Iâm back to buy a new one.

Really strong and heat is good
This massager was recommended by a friend and I will say it is very effective. The covers that it comes with that cover the vibrating balls, are not really needed. It works well enough without it and the heat comes through better as well. The handle is extra long which is good to reach farther, but the overall weight of the massager, coupled with the long handle, can make it heavy to hold onto for more than a few minutes. I did find that I could wedge it between my back and the sofa back to keep it in place without using the handle at all. Also, the balls are a little too widely space to hit the tops of your shoulders, so it has limited uses for shoulder and upper back. You can use one ball on the top of your shoulder, but again, it is a little awkward. Not sure if I would get it again. It does work well, just the handle is very awkward….

Overheats fast
I bought almost the same thing as this from Homedics something like 20 years ago. It died about 2 years ago from heavy use. I picked up this one 16 months ago. Almost immediately I noticed it would stop running after about 3-5 minutes like it was overheating. It would all of a sudden slow to a stop and just buzz slightly like it was trying to run until I turned it off. Well now 16 months later it is lasting about 10-15 seconds before it overheats and it has to sit about 10 minutes before I can run it again for more than a few seconds. I do not have to press hard or anything and this is on the lowest setting. This thing is a piece of junk.It is quieter and has the protection around the edges so you do not get pinched and the thermal heating is below the heads so you can heat whatever head you want to run instead of just one set, but it does not message as hard either. The old model was about 20-30% stronger. I also only paid $25 so even considering inflation it actually increased in price 15% faster than inflation yet provides a MUCH cheaper quality product. Yes I had to fix the cord on the old one and the handle foam came apart, but the rubber on the handle of this new one is also coming apart. The old one never overheated. I could run it for 30 minutes on high if I wanted and press really hard.The massage is good though. You have to decide though if a massager that only runs for 3-5 minutes at a time and that is only going to last a year or so with moderate use is worth $50. For me it is not.

Just stopped working. I still have this 3 stars and am going to order another one. Why? We received several times the purchase price in the many dozens of treatments. Not thrilled that I have to buy another but for the price it is worth the value received.
