If they fit the top of my face, they usually hang below, rather than covering, my chin and are hard to keep in place. So, the idea of a two piece mask you could apply to ensure coverage of both those areas intrigued me. But, I was very disappointed in the execution:• [POOR FIT]: This mask is designed in two pieces to cover the entire face, but both pieces were quite small – certainly too small to allow for overlap, and given the asymmetric cuts, they did not even align on one side and left an empty space in the middle of my cheek. They, also, tore easily. It was nearly impossible to adjust them without ripping, which was extremely frustrating as they moved and bubbled quite a bit on their own.• [AWKWARD DESIGN]: The eye and mouth cutouts were uneven and poorly placed. Neither piece was symmetrical, making it difficult to get a good fit. The mouth piece cut across my lips at a 45-degree angle, and the narrow and asymmetric placement of the eyes made it both difficult to keep the collagen out of my eyes and impossible to get the mask to stay down on my nose.• [UNPLEASANT SCENT]: The mask has a strong, unpleasant odor that I found reminiscent of the day we dissected frogs in biology class.• [POTENTIAL FOR IRRITATION]: I have sensitive skin, and the mask caused some swelling around my eyelids.[MASK EFFICACY: UNCERTAIN]:• [TREATMENT TIMES]: The instructions suggest wearing the mask for 45 minutes to an hour for a “glow-up,” or 3-4 hours or even overnight for a full treatment. For any of these durations, the key factor is to wait until the white mask turns clear, indicating your face has fully absorbed the product. I wore it for just over 6 hours, at which point only the areas around the cutouts for my face had turned clear.• [APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS UNCLEAR]: This may indicate that I applied the wrong side of the mask (if there is one): the instructions weren’t clear on which side of the mask to wear, and I chose to go with the smoother one because it slipped less than the patterned one. It may also be an issue with my choosing to wear one of my reusable silicone masks over it. However, it was slipping and bubbling to such a degree that it would have had little chance of staying on my face through the night, otherwise.[OVERALL]:While the idea of a two-piece mask for better coverage is appealing, the execution here falls short. The poor fit, unpleasant scent, and potential for irritation make this a mask I wouldn’t recommend. The mask does contain hyaluronic acid and other moisturizing ingredients, and my skin did feel somewhat softer after use. However, there are other collagen masks on the market that are more comfortable, easier to use, and have a more pleasant fragrance.
