Perfect Shampoo Bar for Fine Hair!
Iâve been using the Anihana Lavender & Rosemary Shampoo Bar for a few weeks now, and Iâm so impressed! Itâs specifically designed for thin, fine, and oily hair, which is exactly what I have, and it works wonders. The fragrance is amazingâsoothing lavender mixed with fresh rosemaryâbut itâs not overpowering at all. Great shampoo bar, lathers up quickly, lasts a long time, and better for the environment.
This shampoo bar lathers up so quickly and nicely, and leaves my hair clean and smelling great. It also lasts a really long time, and I love that itâs better for the environment, since itâs packaged in cardboard and ships as dry weight, unlike shampoo in a plastic bottle where most of what you are shipping is water. And I add it to my regular monthly subscription box, so it just fits in a box thatâs already coming to my house. I set it for the longest allowed subscription time period, 6 months, but itâs never finished by then so I just skip it to another month a few times until Iâm ready for it.

Cleans Non-Porous Hair, Can be Drying
I’ve been struggling fo years to find a more natural shampoo for my straight, fine, oily, and apparently non – porous hair (doesn’t absorb oils). I’ve tried the ones that use glucosides instead of sulfates but they just didn’t clean my hair well. This is the first shampoo bar I’ve tried and overall I’m impressed, especially for the price.It contains mostly natural and unprocessed ingredients, and does the job of actually CLEANING my hair and not leaving it a flat, oily mess. It can be a bit drying however so I’m on the lookout for a natural conditioner to pair with it to balance things out. Unfortunately the ANIHANA conditioner that pairs with this bar contains parfum/artificial fragrance (yikes!) and the the other one has honey which I don’t use.I keep my hair shoulder length and this bar has lasted me over a year! You really only need 3 or so swipes to clean your hair, and it spread’s well too unlike a lot of other natural liquid shampoos I’ve tried. That’s probably due to the sulfates, but again my hair seems to need them so I’m willing to compromise.One review complained about the scent smelling strong and artificial. Perhaps their bar was contaminated or fake because that has not been my experience. My bar has a very light, lavender smell that smells natural. The scent does not linger on your hair, which some people may or may not like.Overall this is a very good, ‘natural’ product that does what it’s supposed to do. If you are 100% avoiding sulfates though this is not the product for you. But if you’ve tried everything else and are ok with them I recommend this product. You just might want to pair it with a conditioner.

Not like normal conditioner!
If you’ve never used bar shampoo/conditioner then you might not know what to expect. The shampoo is pretty self explanatory, and it works beautifully! The conditioner though. It’s not like normal conditioner. It won’t feel the same, so don’t expect it too. It will be different. It also just may not work for you/your hair. Which really has nothing to do with the product itself. It’s just that different hair and different people have different needs. For my (2c/3a, medium/med-low porosity) hair, this works beautifully. I do regular protein masks and use the conditioner in the shower like normal. I will usually put a small (very small) amount of conditioner in my hair after showering as a leave in. Give it a chance with realistic expectations and you might find yourself as blown away as I am! My hair is so silky and healthy with this stuff, easily as good as more expensive shampoo/conditioner bars I’ve used! If you have hard water you might want to get a filter or do regular vinegar rinses, or do monthly clarifying washes. Especially if you’re used to shampoo with sulfates this will be different. But otherwise absolutely amazing products for their price!

Leaves a residue
I really wanted to love this shampoo bar. It lathers well, has a very light scent (not offensive), and I was hopeful that Iâd found my new bar. But, after several weeks of use, my hair started to feel heavy and kind of sticky, as if the product was not thoroughly rinsing out. I made sure I was taking time to rinse it with lots of water, but still my hair felt sticky. I finally had to stop using it.
