I love it!
I purchased the 21 inch drift kinetic sand table after deciding not to purchase the $3500 coffee table made by a different company. I wanted to see if it was something that helped me relax. Considering the price of this versus the super expensive coffee table Table version by a different company, itâs amazing. Watching the ball create the patterns and move around the table is so soothing and relaxing to my brain. I can put on some headphones put on some good music and watch this thing for hours. The app works flawlessly and the massive amount of design options is great. The only thing I wish I could do would be import my own designs. I really hope at some point they add that ability to the app. But there are so many preset designs I havenât even gone through a third of them yet. If youâre considering purchasing an end table then I would recommend getting the stand and the table. Every single person that has come over to my house has wanted to watch it. It is a great conversation starter and a really cool thing to have in my home. I am very happy with the purchase and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I took it out of the box and had it making its first design in less than two minutes. All of the different lighting color options etc. and the app make it even better.

Ultra Cool!
My wife is Executive Director for a chain of counseling offices and one of the newer offices has a very large version of this. A few months back she was raving about it – just how cool it is.Soooo …I got her the home version and she absolutely loves it. Set up was extremely easy and the app works flawlessly. It really is relaxing and mesmerizing. We might have to get one for her own office. There was a time not long ago this would have been considered magic of some kind – a trick. Just another small wonder that causes me to shake my head and grin.I recommend the matching table. It’s a perfect fit.

Pricey but Fun!
Easy to assemble and gorgeous product. The app is easy to use and you will have the product up and running in less than 10 minutes. There are tons of patterns in the app many which are mesmerizing and some are just plain hokey. The weird ones tend to be attempts at holiday patterns. I love the speed adjustment in the app. I like to set it real slow because I want the pattern to take time to complete. Once complete the marble just stops and you are left with the chosen design. The lighting inside the Drift is pretty good. Its bright and there are enough colors to choose from.

A State of Calm
I was a little skeptical of this item, but my wife is always talking about mindfulness and being present. So to that end, I bought this for her as a present, but realized how enjoyable it was for me as well. I ordered the larger 21″ inch size because I had a nice place to put it in the living room (It’s really quite large so make sure you choose the right size). Set up is indeed very easy, there are a few steps, but it goes quickly (less than 25 minutes or so) and once you connect the app everything from there is a breeze. It’s actually amazing how calming it is to watch and just relax as the little ball makes the pattern. There is also a changeable mood light setting to it as well so you can have a little bit of an ‘art show’ with the pattern making if you want. It definitely has a calming effect and the patterns are incredibly intricate. You can apparently download even more patterns, but I haven’t tried that yet. The one thing I wish it had was just a small speaker to also play some audio through. Obviously you can do that in your home, but given that it’s app controlled, would be great to be able to send a playlist to it and then relax to the visual and audio. That said, it does exactly what it’s intended to do and is really nice and relaxing to watch. Just make sure you pick the right size because the big one is big. I’ll try and add some photos later, but I think there are certainly enough online that show it.Just uploaded a photo of one of the latest designs. It really is amazing to watch!

Beautiful but tricky trying to get it to work with Android
Update 2: For reasons I don’t understand the device stopped communicating with my Pixel 6a even after using the phone to set it up. I had to switch to an old LG V30. It works about 7 out of 10 tries with the LG. Enough to change the settings and patterns. Once it’s up and running it doesn’t really need tweaking. But if you decide to change the lights and patterns it will need the app. I honestly don’t understand why this is such a riddle for Homedics. Every other Bluetooth device I’ve ever owned works more consistently that the Drift. It’s worth the hassle, though. The device is gorgeous.Update 1: I initially wrote a very negative review. Now that I finally figured out how to get it to work I love it! If you’re using Android, it needs to connect via Bluetooth to do a firmware update before you can set it up. The drift never shows up on my list of available Bluetooth devices. However, the app does provide the device as an option. The first several times I tried to do the firmware update the process froze and I had to start over. I turned the drift on and off and rebooted my phone. That seems to do the trick because I was finally able to update the firmware. It took several minutes, maybe 5-10 but I didn’t count. After the firmware update I was able to change the settings for the Drift. In terms of size, I chose the 16 inch and am glad. It fits nicely on a rectangular coffee table. For me the 21 inch would be way way too big. However, I could see turning the 21 inch into it’s own end table. But unless you have a specific spot that can fit the larger one, I would recommend the 16 inch. Now that it works this thing is absolutely gorgeous. The level of detail in the patterns is truly impressive and the lighting is perfect. It’s a piece of art that also makes its own art.

Terrific and must have.
My friend showed me this over two years ago and I kept it in my cart waiting for an Amazon deal. $100 off the original price and sold. Truly love it in my dining room. 16â was perfect. If I got the 24â it would be to huge, itâs the size of a table honestly. So the smaller version is perfect for my size home.

This device is soothing and lovely – we had it running in our living room as a side table. Lights are a bit bright at night, but otherwise it’s a great point for meditation and conversation piece, and the designs have great variety. Until, that is, the fabric under the sand started to bubble and lift, less than 6 months after opening. Within warranty, the seller will not exchange or refund, and Homedics Australia doesn’t exist – it’s an unmanned phone number and email address with no responses. Working through the credit card company now…
